Position Overview Vice-President The Purpose of CCSGA The purpose of the (CCSGA) is to provide a means of student advocacy and participation in the democratic system by allowing student input into educational policies and decisions. The CCSGA is comprised of representatives from each member school. The Role of the Vice-President The Vice-President of the is expected to attend all CCSGA Executive Board and General Assembly meetings and to assume all duties of the President when he/she is unable to discharge those duties. In addition, the Vice-President represents CCSGA at Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC) activities and performs all other duties pertaining to the office as assigned by the President. Responsibilities of the CCSGA Vice-President The CCSGA Vice-President will be elected for a one-year term and shall assume all duties of the President when he/she is unable to discharge those duties. Assist the President in the Association activities. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the President. Vote during all meetings. The CCSGA Vice-President must provide his/her own transportation to all meetings and functions related to the position. Qualifications of the Vice-President The candidate must have one year membership in the General Assembly prior to election and be a current 10 th or 11 th grader. The Vice-President may hold office for more than one year. The CCSGA Vice-President may not be the current President or Vice-President of any member Student Government. CCSGA officers must abide by the Carroll County Eligibility Regulations for Extracurricular Activities.

The letter must be in a sealed envelope with the recommenders signature over the seal. No additional letters of recommendation will be considered. You are responsible for collecting the sealed recommendation and including it with your other application materials in one, complete application packet. Be sure to clearly establish when you need the recommendation returned to you so that you can send the complete application packet in on time. We recommend that you provide a copy of the position description to the individual writing the letter of recommendation. Your complete application packet must be received by April 20, 2018. Send packets to: Mr. Jeffrey Alisauckas CCSGA Advisor Carroll County Public Schools 125 North Court Street Westminster MD 21157 2018-19 Officer Elections Elections for the offices of CCSGA President, Vice President, 2 nd Vice President, and Secretary will take place at the May 4 th General Assembly meeting at Carroll Community College, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Confirmation of the receipt of your application packet will be sent to you after the April 20, 2018 deadline. Candidates will be required to speak in front of the General Assembly for a period of no longer than 5 minutes. Speeches should address why you want to serve as an officer and what you will bring to the position. Following all speeches there will be a short question and answer period. Delegates will vote by secret ballot and elected officers will be announced at the end of the General Assembly meeting.
