Political sciences Catalogue 2014-2015 Brief introduction of the program: The training program in the first two years covers general knowledge; two terms courses in the main scientific fields: Political science, Introduction to Law and legislation, Introduction to sociology, Philosophy of morality, law and politics, History Bulgaria, Introduction to economics, Government and public management; practical term courses in the fields of political science, international relations and European integration. In the third and fourth years the training is organized in three specialized modules: Political management, European policies and International Relations. Political science Practices: The practical training includes internship in European, regional and national governmental and non-governmental structures municipalities, ministries, agencies, Center for European, Refugee, Migration and Ethnic studies, New Bulgarian University; Center Jean Monet European policies, Center for Social Practices and etc. International mobility: The program presents the opportunity for international students mobility with universities: Belgium, Italy, Swiss, France, Spain, Cyprus, Germany, Turkey, Poland. Competences of the post - graduates: Acquired knowledge about basic concepts, categories and theoretical schools of political science. Acquire skills in basic approaches in the study of society and politics; organizing political campaigns, policy documents, strategies, programs and platforms. 1

Graduation: The graduation of the Bachelor Program is concluded with either a defense of Bachelor thesis or Professional practice examination after covering all required number of credits. The method and conditions of graduation are in accordance with Standard for the graduation of Bachelor and Masters Degrees at NBU. Profession realization and possible occupation: Political scientist, expert in European and International programs and projects, specialists in European and International governmental and non-governmental organizations; foreign institutions; state administration, political parties, nongovernmental sector; European, international and research organization and instructions.
