TRAINED SOCIOLOGISTS A Major or Minor in Sociology prepares students for jobs in research by training students in qualitative and quantitative methods. Corporations often use various methods to analyze everything from sales and client data, to humanitarian community efforts they support. Using a sociological imagination and research training, sociology majors and minors are frequently hired by local, state, federal governmental positions Their training prepares them for studying the effectiveness of humanitarian emergency responses as well as organizing outreach programs. Sociologically trained students are also hired as analysists for human rights protection, conflict resolution, cultural studies, violence prevention, human resources, business relations, and corporate responsibility to name just a few.
