July 2017 Traveling in the Past and Present Tallahassee Region Antique Automobile Club of America Next Meeting July 11, 2017 Old Auto Museum Dinner 6:00 pm General Meeting 6:45 pm Club Officers President Ken Hart Vice President Phil Reichert TALLAHASSEE REGION, AACA MEETING MINUTES June 13, 2017 The Old Tallahassee Auto Museum There were approximately 37 members and guests present at this meeting. Pledge to the Flag: Everyone Moment of Silence: Ken Hart asked for a moment of silence. Welcome: Ken Hart welcomed everybody including a new member, Richard Shelfer. 50/50 Drawing: Joe Wells The winner was Bob Newman. Program: None this month. Announcements & Reports: Ken Hart announced that recently, the National AACA asked we would be interested in hosting the Southeastern National Winter Meet in February, 2018. This request was based on our experience in hosting the successful Southeastern Fall Meet in October, 2003. The Executive Board met on June 12 and discussed the ramifications involved including the short time left for planning, the amount of member involvement needed, and our scheduled Honor Flight Show in March, 2018. After much discussion about the above, the Board decided not to pursue this and present it to the club as information. Of course, if the Club wanted to take this on, we would proceed. The most persuasive argument concerning this was that the Club spent almost two years to plan and put on the 2003 Meet. Secretary Marianne Trussell Treasurer Norm Madsen Newsletter Editor Dennis Tpber Web Master Craig Brown Executive Board Bill O'Rourke Jack Hanbury Victor (Vic) Hajos John Schanbacher

Tallahassee Chassee July 2017 Page 2 TRAACA Scholarship update as of June TRAACA meeting. By: Jack Hanbury I stopped over at Lively Technical Center Automotive Division and talked to four of the instructors (the ones that spoke at or meeting) and the reply for the Assistant Principal Randy Free. My concerns were addressed and all answers made available except the presentation date in August which will be announced later. I should have by July meeting. The two names of the second year students the scholarships will be present to and their bios. I also requested logos to be used on award certificates and I m requesting any help to get presentation published in local newspaper and AACA nation magazine. I called Craig and Lori Brown and they will handle the logo transfers and printing of the award certificates. I asked my sister (Judy) to write the story for the newspapers and all should be ready for July meeting. The following still needs to be done and Vic Hajos, is working with me to achieve this. HELP! Direct contact with newspaper. Signing of the award certificates. President & chairman Framing of certificates. Camera person to take pictures and record names Date of presentation. Members to attend presentation
