Included is the Application for Fine Arts and Crafts Booth Exhibitors, which I encourage you to read thoroughly. The deadline for submitting your application is June 2, 2014, which is the date all entries will begin to be juried. Checks are to be made payable to the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce and sent to the Chamber s address as shown on the application. Please submit pictures as specified in the Application. Every effort will be made to return the pictures to you. All application information and pictures will be reviewed by our committee, and you will be notified if your Application is selected. If your Application is not selected, we will return your pictures and refund the application fee. Also attached are the Arts in the Alley Festival Rules and Guidelines under which this event is held. Please read these guidelines, initial each page, sign the application and return all pages with your application; pictures; self-addressed, stamped envelope; and payment. Many of you have expressed an interest in entering your work in the shows that run in conjunction with Arts in the Alley. Registration information for each of the following shows: Fine Arts, Crafts, Photography, Quilts, and Grove City Easel Award, will be sent at a later date and will also be available on the Chamber Website at www.gcchamber.org. Any entry in any of these shows depicting flowers is also eligible for the Helena McComb Award and is not a separate registration. You do not need to be an accepted Exhibitor in Arts in the Alley to enter your item(s) in these shows. GROVE CITY AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Arts in the Alley Music and Arts Festival FESTIVAL RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. All entries will be juried by a standards committee. Work that is substandard or not appropriate for exhibition will be rejected. 2. All work must be original and handcrafted by the artist. Only recent work is acceptable. No kits or mold ware. 3. All exhibitors must submit three (3) photos of their work as well as their display with the Application/registration form. 4. Photos will be returned to exhibitors after verifying they are representative of what is being displayed, in the self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) if one was provided. 5. Artists must be present with their artwork during the festival. 6. Exhibitors are responsible for their own Vendor s License. 7. Exhibitors must have merchandise ready for sale by opening time and display their work until festival closing time. 8. Electricity will be provided to all TENT spaces. Electricity is available to street spaces. However, exhibitor is responsible for providing extension cords and cord covers. A maximum of one (1) 60-watt light and/or calculator is/are permitted in any space, and cords and cord covers must comply with code. 9. No stakes may be hammered into street asphalt and no trailer space is available. 10. Full payment, photos, and self-addressed, stamped envelope for return of photos must accompany Application /Registration Form. 11. NO VEHICLES ARE PERMITTED IN THE FESTIVAL AREA DURING SHOW HOURS. VIOLATORS WILL BE TOWED AND NOT INVITED BACK. 12. Exhibitors are encouraged to enter any of the other arts/crafts shows being held during the festival -- Fine Arts, Crafts, Photography, Quilts, and Grove City Easel Award. Information regarding each of these shows will be sent at a later date. However, when the information is finalized for these shows, the registration forms will be posted on the Chamber Web Site at www.gcchamber.org. Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce Arts in the Alley Music and Arts Festival Name: Purpose: Logo: Date: Setting: Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce Arts in the Alley Music and Arts Festival (A Committee of the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce) To provide Grove City and surrounding communities with an event that promotes all of the arts: visual, music, dance, theater, and literature; is free of overt commercialism and conducive to the development of community participation, pride and fellowship; and to present the arts as an integral part of our lives. Gazebo The third weekend in the month of September each year. Festival hours shall be determined by the general planning committee. All activities related to the festival shall be open during these hours. Downtown Grove City on the main and side streets with general boundaries of: Grant Avenue on the north, Grove City Road on the south, Arbutus Avenue on the east and the city parking lots on the west. A carnival atmosphere or flea market type of event. Commercial booths, political booths and/or solicitation, amusement park rides, games of chance, alcoholic beverages. Art work must be 90 percent (90%) hand-made and original. Craft items from kits will not be permitted. Exhibitors will be encouraged to demonstrate their art or craft. Number of booths, locations, and fees shall be recommended by the booth exhibitor chairperson with final approval of plan to be given by the general committee. No pop-guns, rubber-band guns, sling shots or other items attached with rubber bands are NOT PERMITTED. Concession spaces shall be allocated only to service clubs, church groups, and non-profit organizations in the Grove City area. The concession chairperson shall use his/her discretion as to food items to be sold. Food selected should show a variety of choices for all age groups and be available at a reasonable price. Entertainment should be of high quality and in good taste with a wide variety of performers to appeal to all age groups. Loud or suggestive entertainment, music, performances, or demonstrations will not be permitted. Show criteria shall be determined by the photography show chairpersons with final approval by the general committee. The fine art show shall consist of two-dimensional and three-dimensional divisions, with separate rules governing each. Information tent volunteers will provide information as needed. An area set aside for art-related activities for children. Show criteria shall be determined by the craft show chairperson with final approval by the general committee. All schools within the South-Western City School District, neighboring areas, and individuals of school age shall be invited to enter the art show at no entry cost. One artist earns a $1,750.00 purchase prize in the Grove City Easel Award contest. The piece of artwork may be of any media and of all surfaces. This includes, and is not limited to, relief; inthe-round; fabric; wood; glass, etc., as well as two-dimensional paintings, drawings, etc. The content may include, and is not limited to, persons; animals; places; structures; and/or events that reflect Grove City, its past, present, and/or future. This award is given in loving memory of one of the festival co-founders who passed away in 2004. Helena s love of flowers provides us with the perfect subject matter for this award. I understand that all pieces of art presented to be part of the GCACC Arts in the Alley Festival Shows will be original, in good taste, and that the GCACC Arts in the Alley Committee reserves the right to exercise discretion and cause any inappropriate piece(s) to be removed.
