There have been a couple of production issues in the workflow and I have been out of state dealing with some work and family issues. This will limit my time coming to meetings, but I will still work to complete this newsletter and continue to compete and attend as I can. Again, I apologize for the lateness and I thank you for your understanding in the matter. MMCC PROGRAMS NEWS FROM AROUND OUR CLUB PHOTO CONVERSATIONS: MMCC members met in early March for an invigorating evening of video viewing and conversation about street photography, docmentary photography, and our own difficulties with on-the-spot photos of strangers. First we saw Walter Rosenblum: In Search of Pitt Street, a one-hour video about the life and work of a pioneering member of The Photo League in NYC and the person who offered the first college-level course in photography--at Brooklyn College. The humanity Rosenblum expressed in his photos and in his interviews about the people he shot inspired us all to examine our own methods of approaching strangers for that once-in-a-lifetime casual portrait which somehow manages to encapuslate the subject s soul. Our discussion was vigorous and lively. - June Hagen GETTING YOUR PHOTOS SEEN: Barbara Koppelman is a photo editor, archivist and researcher who who provided us with an informational and instructional session on what makes a photograph sell. She pointed us to various outlets such as websites and the photographer s market handbook and its online companion. The discussion moved through various topics such as copyright issues and how to curate your collection for a website. Barbara taught everyone something useful during her program. 2
