Ives, the Commissioners Court received the 2012 Gold Leadership Circle Award from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts for financial transparency for Victoria County. RECEIVE DISCUSS EFFECTIVE AND ROLLBACK TAX RATE VICTORIA COUNTY: (10:00-8-10:18) 8. August 27, 2012. Judge Pozzi received the effective tax rate at.03706/$100 and the rollback tax rate at 0.4187/$100. He stated that the actual rate has been set at 0.3986 for the tenth year in a row. Moved by Kevin M. Janak and seconded by Clint C. Ives, the Commissioners Court received the effective and rollback tax rates. Commissioner Burns stated he would like to see some consideration to lower the tax rate and stated his opinion to shift the burden from the property tax payer to sales tax and sees opportunity to lower the rate. Judge Pozzi reviewed past history of the previous year s tax rates and the effects of each year. Discussion regarding the tax rate continued briefly between Commissioners Janak, Ives and Burns and each voiced their concerns.
