Debriefing Summary Venue & Decoration: The Ace Hotel in NYC perfectly fit the theme for Elvis, hipster and coffee shop. The vibe of the hotel lobby featured hipster furniture and a renowned coffee shop called Stumpton. The room for Pre-Basel featured a wall with vintage speakers complimenting the Elvis / music theme. Props and décor were sourced in order to create different stories per the event brief. Additional furniture elements and hipster-style tables and chairs were also sourced to create a unique seating area to go over highlight pieces. The Red Bull announcement was featured in a smaller section with a focus on the two RBAR watches and featured custommade pylons. A vintage photo-shoot/photography area was also set-up with vintage style camera. This worked out very well as journalist used the lighting and set-up to take photos of the pieces. Overall lighting in the space was a bit poor, but made best use of available lighting and additional lighting that was brought in.
Debriefing Summary Media/Guest Experience: Media and guests were each provided a 1:1 presentation of the new timepieces by either PR or Sylvain. Catering was offered in the room with a continental breakfast and light bites for lunch and snacks throughout the day. The area also provided seating space and areas that were ideal for meetings with key retailers and media 1:1 s with Sylvain. One journalist came in the morning and was so impressed with the collection, he returned in the afternoon to take photos in order to post a story the following day. All journalists complimented the set-up and thought it was very unique way to tell the story of our pieces this year. The photoshoot set-up provided excellent backdrop for those journalists taking a photo for their publication, website or social media. The caliber, quality and quantity of journalists exceeded last year s U.S. Pre-Basel. Coverage on sites have already generated inquiries with local RSM retailers!!!
Debriefing Summary Product: All of the press that attended were familiar with the Hamilton brand and were interested to see the new introductions. A PR highlight and what seemed to be one of the favorites among most of the press was Intramatic 68 with panda strap. Additional highlights included the Ventura pieces. All journalists were familiar with the Ventura and were excited to see the latest introductions. There were a bit of mixed reviews on the denim piece. Many were also pleased to hear about the partnership with Red Bull and loved the new Air Race pieces. The ODC-X03 continues to be very popular with the media and has already garnered significant coverage. For those that covered the news of the release from the press release and had not seen the product in person were very excited to touch and feel.
