The scene was attended by Basset Security and was informed that the suspects were still inside the house. They controlled the scene until Durbanville SAPS arrived. Durbanville SAPS requested the assistance of NIU to sweep the premises for the suspects. NIU entered the house and found five (5) suspects hiding in the roof of the house. One (1) suspect pointed a firearm at a NIU member in the roof and the member responded by firing his firearm. Two (2) of the suspects were injured during apprehension. After the arrests were executed, two (2) firearms were confiscated from the suspects as well as a motor vehicle that was hi-jacked in Philippi East.
