The UAW Local 200 Collection 9 Boxes 2 Scrapbooks Processed: 1966 Accession Number: 179 By: BF The papers of UAW Local 200 were deposited with the Labor History Archives in February, 1966 by Local 200. Local 200 is located in Windsor, Ontario and services the Windsor plant of the Ford Motor Co. of Canada, Ltd. The bulk of the Local 200 Collection covers the years 1950-51, 1953, and 1955. Also included are a few scattered items for the period 1947-1959, the dates for such items being identified in the folder description below. The correspondence of the Recording Secretary, Plant Committee covers the period from 1948 to 1955. The two scrapbooks cover the period from April, 1962 to January, 1964. Important subjects are: -Refusal by U.S. Immigration authorities to permit entry of Local 200 delegates to attend the UAW Convention, 1955. -Strike, 1951. -Suspension of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers (UE) from the Canadian Congress of Labour, 1950.
