ELECTION STATUE STATES Signs/campaign materials must remain 10 feet from the entrance of the polling location. ALBANY TWP Political Sign advertises a person or party seeking political office or a political cause or opinion on a referendum or matter of political concern and which relates to a scheduled election or matter of upcoming vote by a government body. Persons posting political signs shall deposit $25.00 with the Twp. Secretary. The return of such deposit shall be conditioned upon the removal of all signs within 30 days after the election. This requirement shall not apply to signs posted in front of a dwelling or business with permission of the owner of such property, in front of polling places on election day or for a Federal office. Signs shall be placed a max. of 90 days prior to election, vote or referendum and removed a maximum of 10 days after such election, vote or referendum. Persons posting political signs shall maintain a written list of locations of such signs. Political signs shall not be placed on private property without the consent of the owner. If a political sign does not meet these requirements, then it shall be regulated as an off-premise sign. Max. number of signs per lot 4 Max sign total sign area on residential lots of less than 2 acres 32 Max. total sign area on lots other than residential lots of less than 2 acres 32 ALSACE TWP A sign shall be removed when the use to which it refers is terminated. Temporary signs advertising political parties or candidates for election, provided that the size of any such sign is not in excess of four (4) square feet. LOWER ALSACE TWP Political signs, being signs erected in conjunction with a political election, naming candidates or slate of candidates for a primary or general election or referencing a position in support of or opposition to an issue placed in referendum, shall be installed so as to comply with the following regulations: (1) Political signs shall not be placed in the right-of-way of any road and shall be placed only on properties with the property owner s permission. (2) Political signs may be posted thirty (30) calendar days prior to the date of the election. (3) Political signs must be removed within five (5) days following the election.

FLEETWOOD BORO Temporary signs for political elections and candidates provided that no side of any temporary sign shall exceed twelve (12) square feet in area; no more than one temporary sign shall face any one street; no temporary sign shall be closer than five (5) feet to a front lot line and no temporary sign shall be placed closer than the side yard requirement to a side lot line, except those attached to buildings; all temporary political election and candidate signs shall not be placed more than thirty (30) days prior to an election and shall be removed no later than seven (7) days following the election. Political signs may not be placed within the right-of-way of any street or on utility poles. GREENWICH TWP HAMBURG BORO Temporary signs announcing a campaign shall not exceed 60 square feet in area and shall be removed immediately upon the completion of the campaign. Signs shall conform to codes (See office for attachment. HEIDELBERG TWP Currently does not have any regulations in place governing the display of campaign signs. Please remove signs immediately after the election. LOWER HEIDELBERG TWP Township requests that signs be removed within a few days after the election.

NORTH HEIDELBERG TWP SOUTH HEIDELBERG TWP Temporary political signs provided that the area of one (1) side of any such sign shall not exceed six (6) square feet and that not more than two (2) such signs shall be displayed on any one (1) street frontage. Such signs shall be removed within seven (7) days following the event to which they refer. Signs shall not be posted earlier than one (1) month prior to an election. HEREFORD TWP Signs erected in conjunction with a political election or campaign. a. The individual whose campaign or election is being announced shall deposit with the Twp. Secretary the sum of twenty-five (25) dollars to be returned only upon condition that all signs have been removed within thirty (30) days following the election. b. The erection of such signs shall require the permission of the landowner c. No such signs shall be erected more than sixty (60) days prior to the election. JEFFERSON TWP Temporary signs announcing a campaign shall not exceed twelve (12) square feet and shall be removed immediately following the campaign. KENHORST BORO Permitted signs, All Zoning Districts. These signs are permitted in all zoning districts and are subject to the following standards, provisions and specifications. Signs erected in conjunction with political election; provided that such sign shall not exceed six (6) square feet, shall be removed within two (2) weeks after the date, shall not be posted earlier than one (1) month prior to an election. Where a district boundary line divides a lot which was in single ownership at the effective date of this Chapter, at the election of the property owner, the regulations of either zoning district may be extended a distance of not more than fifty (50) feet beyond the district boundary line onto the remaining portion of the lot. KUTZTOWN BORO - Temporary signs announcing a campaign shall not exceed fifty (50) square feet and shall be removed immediately following the campaign. No sign shall be allowed within street right-of-way limes unless specifically authorized by other ordinances. No signs shall be permitted with are posted, stapled, tied or otherwise temporarily or permanently attached to public utility poles or trees within a right-of-way line. LAURELDALE BORO Signs may be placed on private property; no sign allowed on Met-Ed poles and any other poles; no signs allowed on public property LEESPORT BORO No regulations, signs should be removed immediately after the election LENHARTSVILLE BORO LONGSWAMP TWP No signs may be placed prior to 7:00am on Election Day. All signs must be placed within 50 of the Township Building on own stand/support. No signs may be placed on the Township Building. All signs must be removed 1 hour after closing of polls.

LYONS BORO MAIDENCREEK TWP Temporary signs announcing a campaign, drive, or event of a civic shall not exceed sixty (60) square feet in area and shall be removed one (1) week of the completion of the campaign. (Copy of Ordinance available in office) MARION TWP MAXATAWNY TWP Has no regulations concerning the placement of campaign signs, however, they do encourage their removal within three days subsequent to the election. MT. PENN BORO Political signs are not allowed to be placed on public property, including the flag/clock area on Perkiomen Ave and the malls on Endlich Avenue. Signs shall be removed promptly upon completion of the election; no side of any sign shall exceed twelve (12) square feet in area; no more than one (1) such sign for each candidate shall be placed on any one (1) street frontage; no signs shall be attached to street signs or utility poles; no signs shall be placed in such a position that will cause any danger to pedestrians or vehicular traffic. MOHNTON BORO MUHLENBERG TWP Political signs, being signs erected conjunction with a political election, naming a candidate or slate of candidates for a primary or general election or referencing a position in support of or opposition to an issue placed on referendum, shall be installed so as to comply with all other terms of Article XI (Call the office for a copy) NEW MORGAN BORO OLEY TWP ONTELAUNEE TWP Signs in conjunction with a political election provided that such sign shall not exceed six (6) square feet, shall be removed within two (2) weeks after the date of the election, shall not be posted earlier than one (1) month prior to the election PENN TWP No regulations governing the display of campaign signs removal is suggested after election by parties placing signs. PERRY TWP Temporary signs announcing a campaign shall not exceed twelve (12) square feet in area and shall be removed immediately upon the completion of the election. Signs shall not exceed six (6) square feet, shall be removed within within two (2) weeks after the date of the election, and shall not be posted earlier than on (1) month prior to the election. PIKE TWP Permits sign in R-P, R-1, R-2, R-3 and R-4 zoning districts provided that the sign is not erected 60 days prior to the election and is removed within 7 days after the election; the area of one side does not exceed 24 square feet; that the sign is not located with 10 feet of the front or side property line; and not more than one sign is permitted on any one street frontage.

RICHMOND TWP Signs in conjunction with a political election, provided that such sign shall not exceed six (6) square feet, shall not be posted earlier than one (1) month prior to an election, shall be removed within two (2) weeks. ROBESON TWP ROBESONIA BORO ROCKLAND TWP Temporary signs announcing a campaign, drive or event shall not exceed twelve (12) square feet in area and shall be removed immediately upon the completion of the campaign. SHILLINGTON BORO No side of sign shall exceed (12) square feet; no more than one (1) such sign shall face any one street; no sign shall be closer than five (5) feet to a front lot line and no sign shall be placed closer than the side yard requirement to a side lot line, except those attached to existing buildings; Permits shall mot be required for political signs; however such signs shall be removed within seventy-two (72) hours of the election SHOEMAKERSVILLE BORO SINKING SPRING BORO SPRING TWP No temporary sign or portion thereof may be placed, installed, erected, altered, maintained, used, displayed or moved to any location within ten feet (10') of the cartway. Upon determination that a temporary sign is noncompliant with the Ordinance, the Township Code Enforcement Officer may immediately remove such noncompliant or prohibited temporary sign and cause them to be stored at a Township facility. No sign shall be located or arranged that it interferes with traffic because of glare; blocking of reasonable sight lines for streets, sidewalks, or driveways; confusion with a traffic control device (by reason of color, location, shape, or other characteristic); or any other reason. In no case shall any sign be erected within the official right of way of any street, unless specifically authorized by ordinance or regulation of the Township and in conformance with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania regulations, where appropriate. Temporary signs announcing any political or similar campaign may be permitted on non-residential properties only for a total period not to exceed thirty (30) days in any calendar year, providing such signs do not exceed thirty two (32) square feet in area and are removed promptly after the conclusion of the campaign event; no signs shall be posted, stapled or otherwise permanently attached to public utility poles or trees within a street right of way. No temporary signs shall be placed on any Township owned property or on any edifice owned or controlled by any governmental entity or any public utility except signs specifically authorized by such government or public utility.

ST. LAWRENCE BORO - Temporary signs announcing a campaign; no side or any such sign shall exceed twelve square feet in area; no more than one sign shall face any one street; no sign shall be closer than five feet to a front lot lime and no sign shall be placed closer than the side yard requirement to a side lot line; such signs shall be removed within 48 hours after the completion of campaign. TILDEN TWP Temporary signs advertising political parties or candidates for election provided that: a. The size of any such sign is not in excess of sixteen (16) square feet. b. The erector of such signs or an authorized agent of the political party or candidate applies for, and obtains, a permit from the Township Zoning Officer and deposits with the Township at the time of his application, the sum of twenty-five ($25.00) per each one hundred (100) signs, or fraction thereof, as a guarantee that all signs will be removed promptly within twenty (20) days after the date of the election to which such signs relate. If such signs are not removed at the end of thirty (30) days, the Township shall have them removed and keep the full sum deposited to reimburse the expenses incurred by it and for general township purposes. TOPTON BORO TULPEHOCKEN TWP Temporary signs announcing a campaign are permitted provided such sign shall not exceed twelve (12) square feet in area and shall be removed immediately upon the completion of the campaign. UPPER TULEPHOCKEN TWP Ordinance allows political signs in all districts providing they are placed no more than 60 days prior to the election, be removed with 30 days after the election and mot to exceed 25 square feet. UNION TWP Campaign signs shall not exceed twelve (12) square feet in area and shall be removed immediately upon the completion of the campaign. WASHINGTON TWP Temporary signs announcing the candidacy of an individual for elective office or urging a specific response to a referendum issue (hereinafter referred to as political signs ) are permitted in all districts in compliance with the regulations of this subsection and the following: a. The area of one (1) side of any political sign shall not exceed thirty-two (32) square feet. b. No political sign shall be illuminated. c. A permit shall be required for each political sign where the area of either side exceeds four (4) square feet. d. All political signs shall be removed within fourteen (14) days following the election for which they were erected. The preceding regulations shall not be applied to a political sign erected or displayed as an off-premises outdoor advertising sign. Such signs shall be regulated by the provisions of Subsection c above. WERNERSVILLE BORO

WEST READING BORO - Section 1001. Temporary Political Signs. Temporary political signs announcing political candidates seeking office, political parties and/or political and public issues contained on a ballot shall be subject to the following: (a) On private property, each temporary political sign shall not exceed an aggregate gross surface area of six (6) square feet per side or twelve (12) square feet in the aggregate. (b) On private property, temporary political signs may be located in any required yard, including those areas of the yard within the street line. (c) Temporary political signs shall not project higher then three feet (3 ), as measured from base of sign or grade of the nearest adjacent roadway, whichever is higher. (d) No temporary political sign shall be located within twenty feet (20 ) of any street or alley intersection nor in a manner as to obscure, or otherwise physically interfere with the effectiveness of, an official traffic sign, signal or device, or obstruct or physically interfere with a driver s view of approaching or intersecting traffic. (e) Temporary political signs may be erected or maintained for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days prior to the date of the election to which such signs are applicable and shall be removed within seven (7) days following such election. The candidate is responsible for all political signs of candidates of the party if they are located in the public right-of-way. (Ordinance 952, April 17, 2007, Section 1) Section 1002. Penalties. Any person who shall violate any provision of this Part shall be subject to a fine not to exceed Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) or imprisonment for a term not to exceed thirty (30) days, or both, in the discretion of the District Justice. Each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense. (Ordinance 952, April 17, 2007, Section 1) Section 1003. Severability. If any sentence, clause, section or part of this Part is for any reason found to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, such unconstitutionality, illegality or invalidity shall not affect or impair any of the remaining provisions, sentences, clauses, sections or parts of this Part.
