Create an account Fill out all the information requested. You will receive an e-mail with your user name and password. Please log in with this information on the same webpage (http://sim.itesm.mx/sim/login.jsp) and complete the information, especially items with a red (*) Please follow next instructions: Admission type : NON DEGREE-SEEKING STUDENT University : Name of your University Academic information : Information of your home university and international coordinator there Are you comming as an exchange student : YES Level at which you wish to enroll : UNDERGRADUATE/BACHELOR Program type : REGULAR UNIVERSITY COURSES Campus of your Interest : CAMPUS CIUDAD DE MÉXICO At last in Academic period : choose the period you wish to apply to. It is important that you carefully plan your arrival to Mexico ahead of time, as you have to be on campus the first day of the orientation week
STUDENT VISA All students, not matter their nationality, will need to appy for a student visa at the Mexican Embasssy or Consulate in their own country. In case you enter Mexico as a tourist, you won t be able to change your visa status and as a consequence your exchange will have to be canceled. In order to apply for a student visa you will need our acceptance letter which we will be send once you finsh our application process. The acceptance letter will be send directly to your home university. Once in Mexico, you will need to fulfill with the requirements of the National Immigration Institute of Mexico (Instituto Nacional de Migración de México or INM). Upon your arrival to Mexico we recommend you: At your arrival (at the airport, international border or port), make sure to declare that you are entering the country as a student. You should show the Immigration Officer the Student Visa you got at the Mexican Consulate or Embassy in your country, valid passport and the Immigration Form (FMM) with the required information (you will get this form during your flight or at Immigration Point. After your arrival, you have the obligation to start the registration process of the immigration document within a maximum of 30 days after the date of your arrival. To fulfill with the requirements asked by the Immigration Authorities at the check point.
STUDENT VISA Please be aware that we need your immigration document properly registered at the Immigration Office in order to issue your final transcript. We insist in the fact that you need to get your student visa before traveling to Mexico an din your home country, otherwise we won t be able to finish your registration and will be force to cancel your exchange. For more information we recommend you to check with the Mexican Embassy and/or Consulate in your home country the requirements for students who wish to come to Mexico through a student exchange. You can also check directly on the webpage of the INM: http://www.inm.gob.mx/index.php/page/tramites Select your nationality Click on 2. Vivir en México, 1. De manera temporal and 2. Estudiar. (this Webpage is only available in Spanish). You will find here the documents you will need to present in order to get a valid immigration status during your stay (accomplish the registration of your student visa), which is also required by our institution in order to validate your student exchange period at our University.
INTERNATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE The Tecnológico de Monterrey has an special international insurance policy whit specific coverage for its exchange students, it is MANDATORY for all exchange students to hire this special insurance. Following you will find all the information related with the coverage and the cost of the insurance. We will inquire for the insurance of all students a few days before the welcome week. We will ask for a policy for all students directly to CHARTIS insurance and the coverage will correspond to your study period, which means: the insurance should start some days before the orientation week and ends a few days after the last official day of final exams. We will inform you a few days before your study period about the final cost (in Mexican pesos) of the insurance you will have to pay it at your arrival (during the orientation week). Nevertheless, the following information will give you an idea of the cost depending on your study period (one semester, trimester or academic year).
