Celebrating Our 50 th LEAP Conference IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT THE HOTEL The Mayflower cutoff date this year is Saturday, March 31 st but we will probably not have any rooms available if you wait until then. We expect attendance to be higher than normal this year and in the past 2 years we have run out of hotel rooms in our discounted block. While we have been able to find rooms for members at other hotel properties at the last minute, we would rather work with the Mayflower early to expand our block to accommodate as many members as we can before the hotel sells out completely. So, please reserve your Mayflower hotel rooms as soon as possible. The Mayflower does not charge your credit card until you check in. You may cancel your reservation up to 48 hours in advance of your check-in date without penalty. Hotel basic info: Ø LEAP rate: $324 single/double; plus 14.5% tax Ø The Mayflower is a Marriott property for Marriott Rewards points Ø Parking: $59/night for valet. No self-parking at this property. If you need a room before or after the standard conference dates of April 22 through April 25, again, please make your reservation as soon as possible as we only have a few rooms available in our block to accommodate earlier arrival/later departure dates. Questions? Contact Hannah Samuel, Department of Government Affairs hsamuel@boilermakers.org or 202-756-2868, x0

LEAP 2018 Tentative Issues December 15, 2017, 3:18 PM TENTATIVE ISSUES FOR LEAP 2018 Specific legislative issues for the 2018 LEAP conference will be announced in early 2018 after Congress returns from the 2017 holiday recess and announces their 2018 legislative agenda. As of the date of this mailing, we are watching the end-of-year comprehensive tax reform, energy-specific tax credit issues and other legislative initiatives that may impact us, along with the ongoing NAFTA renegotiations. We expect some of these issues to carry over into the new year and will assess our legislative priorities then. We will update the LEAP website www.leapindc.org accordingly to keep you informed in a timely manner. We always welcome other suggestions for our annual lobby visits, so please feel free to pass your ideas on to us. Please keep in mind that we need to avoid specific, local issues for our main topics, but delegates should certainly make those a priority when you visit your own Members of Congress and make the best use of your time with them. We have a lot to discuss and celebrate at LEAP this year and we look forward to a very special conference. If you have any questions please contact Cecile Conroy, Director, Government Affairs, at 202-756-2868 x202 or cconroy@boilermakers.org.
