Page 5 Form B Article 13, paragraph 4 (b) Mine clearance and rehabilitation programmes The High Contracting Parties shall provide annual reports to the Depositary... on: (b) mine clearance and rehabilitation programmes; Remark: High Contracting Party Republic of India reporting for time period from Oct. 2005 to Oct. 2006 Mine clearance programmes In context of cross-border terrorism in some parts of the country, militant groups continue to increasingly resort to the indiscriminate use of improvised explosive devices and mines. The Army Corps of Engineers also aid civilian authorities in defusing and clearing such devices. India has not taken recourse to using mines for maintenance of Law and Order or in Internal Security situations, or for combating the menace of terrorism. Rehabilitation programmes No change.

Page 6 Form D Article 13, paragraph 4 (d) Legislation The High Contracting Parties shall provide annual reports to the Depositary... on: (d) legislation related to this Protocol; Remark: High Contracting Party Republic of India reporting for time period from Oct. 2005 to Oct. 2006 Legislation (a) The production and use of landmines is vested with agencies of the Union Government. There is no manufacture or trade of landmines by the private sector.
