Meet 2017-2018 Core Executive Valeriya Mordvinova President Valeriya is doing her Master s at UofT after having graduated with a BSc in June. It is her third year on UTAC executive. Last year she was VP Finance, and before that a finance executive. She is also the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) Young Persons Network (YPN) representative for the Montréal Branch, the only RAeS branch in Canada. Dear members, collaborators and friends of UTAC, Thank you for giving me the honour of being president of UTAC for the 2017-18 academic year. As I outlined in my campaign statement, my aim is to have more events and improve communications both internally and externally. I am pleased to have a great team of core executives who have been working since July to make things happen this year. Applications for the other executive positions are now open, so if aviation is your passion, please apply to join us. Also in line with my campaign promises, the most committed crew member will get a prize at the end of the year. This will align incentives for executives to work hard for the benefit of our members. I look forward to interacting with our members and collaborators this year. I very much enjoy talking to others who share a passion for aviation, so whether you want to discuss anything about UTAC, RAeS or aviation in general, please find me at our events, booth hours or contact me electronically. Hope to see you all soon! Valeriya Monica O Neill Secretary Monica is in her final year of a BSc at UofT, working on a geophysics specialist and math and environment & energy minors. She became a member of UTAC last year, and will be joining the executive team this year. She is also a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society Young Persons Network. Dear members, collaborators and friends of UTAC, I m so excited to be part of the exec team as Secretary for the 2017/2018 school year! I ve been passionate about aviation for nearly my entire life, ever since my parents took me to a tiny aviation museum in a tiny town in Alberta. UTAC is an amazing community of people, where we can share our passion for flight, and grow it by learning more about some truly amazing people, technologies, and industries. I hope that as the year goes by, I have the opportunity to meet many of you at our booth hours, events and meetings! Looking forward to seeing you all this year, Monica

Jonathan Chou Vice-President of External Affairs Jonathan is a fourth year mechanical engineering student at UofT and is currently undertaking an internship position at Magna Powertrain. He joined UTAC in 2015 as a member and in 2016 as the External Department s Vice President, and is continuing the role this year. He is passionate about both commercial and military aviation, and is an avid flight-simmer. Dear members, friends, and followers of UTAC, I am very excited to be part of UTAC s executive team again this year! My love for aviation began at a young age, where I began a collection of die-cast airplane models. Since then, my passion has only grown. Now I strive to understand the technology that makes planes fly, through a degree in mechanical engineering. I joined UTAC as an exec to help support the club in its pursuit of spreading interest in aviation and to unite those who share the same passion. I hope that you can join us in our journey this year to gain some truly fascinating knowledge, and meet some wonderful people. Thanks and see you all soon! Jonathan Michael Chow Vice-President of Internal Affairs Michael is an M.Eng Industrial engineering recent graduate currently working at a consultancy firm full time, in addition to being this year s VP for the internal department. He is a long time aviation enthusiast and truly passionate about commercial planes. He studied aerospace engineering for undergrad. Dear members, collaborators and friends of UTAC, It is my honour of being the internal affairs vice-president of UTAC for the 2017-18 academic year, following my role as an internal executive in the previous year. Along with my team of internal affairs executives, I am here to support the club s campaigns and events in the pursuit of spreading awareness of aviation on campus and boost our outreach. Applications for executive positions are now open, so if you love aviation, please apply to join us and share the love! As stated by the club s president, the most committed crew member will get a prize at the end of the year. I look forward to meeting a great team of internal affairs executives ready to soar in making this a successful year for the club. Hope to see you all soon! Michael Michael Linennen Vice-President of Finance Michael Linennen is a fourth-year student majoring in Journalism and Media Studies. He worked as a photographer for different organizations. After two years as an internal executive at UTAC, he is now VP finance. Greetings, everyone! I have been passionate about flying since I was a child. It has been influenced by my uncle who was a colonel in the US Air Force and a pilot with the Pan American airlines. He would always tell me stories about his flying adventures and it inspired me to pursue my flying dream, so then I joined the air cadets. The Aviation Club at U of T gathers enthusiasts to share their experiences and continue to pursue that dream together. I cannot wait to share that passion with you all! Cheers! Michael
