A very shaken and divided country will have to try and unite under one flag as we continue to fight overseas for our democratic safety.

Some connections for Vietnam and future Cold War involvement 1. As the draft continued through the Vietnam War America saw no ethnic discrimination in the military. All races fought beside each other to return home to a divided nation. 2. As a nation we listen to the outcry of young men being forced into a draft and not given the right to vote. As a result the 26 th Amendment was added. 3. Violence of the war led to civil unrest at home some of which turned violent or deadly. 4. The poor treatment of Veterans because Americans disagreed with the war has been a lesson for today s war on terror you can disagree with the war and still support American soldiers.
