Recognition of the Public D. Treasurer s Business To approve the following actions, upon the recommendation of the Treasurer: 1. Minutes Approve the minutes of the Board of Education s regular meeting held March 18, 2014, as presented.
2. Resolution for Public Records Designee To adopt the following Resolution designating the Treasurer as Designee for purposes of H.B. 9 Public Records Training. WHEREAS, in December 2006, the 126th General Assembly approved H.B. 9, revising Ohio s Public Records Law; and WHEREAS, all elected officials or their designees are required to attend public records training approved by the Ohio Attorney General, which training must be for three (3) hours every term of office for which the official was appointed or elected to the public office; and WHEREAS, the Board has determined to designate the Treasurer as its designee, as that term is defined in R.C. 149.43(A)(12) and 109.43(A), for purposes of H.B. 9 public records training; and WHEREAS, the Board has determined that this designation is in the best interest of the District. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Education of the Copley- Fairlawn City School District, County of Summit, Ohio that: Section 1. The Board designates the Treasurer as its designee, as that term is defined in R.C. 149.43(A)(12) and 109.43(A), for purposes of H.B. 9 public records training. Section 2. The Board authorizes the Treasurer to take any necessary actions consistent with this Resolution. Section 3. It is hereby found and determined that all formal actions of the Board and of any of its committees concerning and relating to the adoption of this Resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Board or committees, and that all deliberations of this Board and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with the law. Section 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and immediately after its adoption. 3. Financial Statement Approve the financial statement for the month of March, 2014 as presented.
E. Superintendent s Considerations and Recommendations To approve the following actions, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent: 1. Class I Literature Adoption Adopt the following for the Class I Literature List, as presented: Ellen Foster, by Kaye Gibbons 2. Staff Appreciation Resolution WHEREAS, the Copley-Fairlawn City School District staff members share their love of life and learning with students, and WHEREAS, they consistently nurture a spirit of discovery, wonder, and curiosity, and WHEREAS, they provide a rich environment where students learn skills needed for future success, and WHEREAS, the Copley-Fairlawn City School District community acknowledges the key role they play in molding future citizens, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED THAT the Copley-Fairlawn City School District Board of Education designates the week of May 5, 2014 as Copley-Fairlawn City School District Staff Appreciation Week in this community, and BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED THAT the Copley-Fairlawn City School District Board of Education invites the community to join it in expressing appreciation to all staff members for the important contribution they make to our children tomorrow's future. 3.
