M. & Andersen, L. R. CV Sixteen years of experience in analysing state formation, citizenship and local politics: in particularly socio-political processes of conflict and contestations over authority and belonging, involving state and non-state actors. Research is informed by long-term fieldwork in Southern Africa, especially in Mozambique, and is now extended with a new research project on Myanmar. Since 2009 a specific focus has been on the fields of policing, security and justice provision, especially the role of non-state authorities and the politics of local order-making. Research has been combined with consultancies and policy-studies with multi-disciplin ary teams, including as team leader, on topics such as: democratic decentralisation, empowerment of civil society organisations, informal justice systems, and human rights-based approaches. Additional ex perience includes the production of training manuals for civil society support, teaching & supervision at universities, and organ isation of seminars & large international conferences that bridge research with policy-related concerns.
