FOREWORD The research below refers to the area of business and human rights which is still an unexplored topic in Georgia. This issue is getting more and more significant in the world and a number of organizations are working in this regard. Their aim is to raise awareness in the business sector on the negative influence that companies might cause by irresponsible actions and improper analyses of their obligations. It is essential to research this topic in Georgia and evaluate what the situation is regarding business and human rights in Georgia. We believe that analysing such acute topics and the discussion around them is the best way to evaluate the situation. And this discussion can be useful to create a fair balance between contemporary business interests and human rights protection in Georgia. The Author of the research paper Mariam Asanishvili holds LLM degree in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from the University of Essex (United Kingdom). She is interested in the topics of business and human rights. She has work experience in business sector, as well as in human rights. The Contributor in the research is also a graduate of the University of Essex (MA Theory and Practice of Human Rights) and has many years of practical experience in human rights. We would like to thank organisations that greatly helped the authors to prepare the research and present it to the public.
