Magistrate Division - Prosecuted misdemeanors, extraditions, first appearances, and assorted pre-trial hearings in evening and night court sessions. Trial Division (Section Chief) - Prosecuted cases ranging from misdemeanor to capital murder. Supervisory responsibility over and training of junior prosecutors. Sex Crimes Screening Division - Screened all sex crime arrests in Orleans Parish. Conducted post-arrest investigations, victim and witness interviews. Determined whether to charge and what charges to bring. Presented cases accepted for prosecution to grand jury. Appellate Division - Wrote and argued appeals, post conviction and habeas corpus proceedings in state and federal courts.
