FOND DU LAC BOARD OF EDUCATION 72 West Ninth Street Fond du Lac, Wisconsin December 11, 2017 CONVENE Call to Order, Roll Call, Establish Quorum, Moment of Reflection/ Pledge of Allegiance The regular meeting of the Board of Education was called to order by President Jurgella at 5:00 p.m. Linda Uselmann was appointed Acting Clerk. Roll Call was as follows: Members present: Breister, Jones, Strand, Uselmann, Walk, Jurgella. Administrative staff members present: Sebert, Gerlach, Lewis, Sheridan, Simon, Williams, Hill. Prior to the Pledge of Allegiance, the Board observed a Moment of Reflection. The Pledge was led by the following students from Woodworth Middle School: Erica McCleary, Jordan McCleary, Sam Oliver, DQ Holmes, and Sydney Bauer. Following the Pledge, the students talked about green screen use in Mr. Marc Curcurio s social studies class. The Bucket Brigade (music drumming on buckets), under the direction of music teacher Ashley Hietpas, then performed for the Board. ANNOUNCEMENTS/ COMMUNICATIONS President Jurgella made the following announcements: 1. There will be no second Board meeting in December. 2. Following adjournment of the regular meeting, the Board will convene in an executive session to consider two student expulsions and to discuss negotiations with the City of Fond du Lac in regards to the School Resource Officer Program as provided for in Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(1)(a)(e) and (f). 3. Presentation of Fondy Pride Awards to Ally Gietzel and Elliott Nielsen on signing Division 1 Letters of Intent. 4 Presentation of Fondy Pride Awards to Dalton Peters and Noah Wenger on being named to the 2017 Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Academic All-State Team. Jack Cole and Drew Jorgensen were also recognized but unable to attend the meeting. Dr. Sebert and Mr. Jurgella will deliver their awards to Fond du Lac High School at a later date.

Current Expenses To approve bills of the Board of Education in the amount of $9,214,849.18 and to have warrants drawn for their payment. C. Human Resources Approvals: 1. Resignation - Samuel Krasny, third grade teacher at Rosenow Elementary School, effective December 4, 2017. 2. Employment Recommendations - Arthur Barribeau, 1.0 FTE library/media specialist at Pier and Riverside Elementary Schools, at Level 11, effective December 13, 2017; and Bradley Reinke, 1.0 FTE special education teacher at Parkside Elementary School, at Level 6, effective December 12, 2017. Dr. Sebert noted that the District will once again be using a mass notification system through Skyward to inform parents and staff of closings and delays via phone calls and emails. Dr. Sebert offered holiday greetings to the Board. Board members shared recent District events/activities that have attended. None. None. As a result of a hearing conducted on November 21, 2017 and pursuant to the Order of the Independent Hearing Officer, MOTION BY Jurgella, seconded Jones the Board of Education affirm the expulsion order for: Student Expulsion #2, Fond du Lac High School, 2017-18. MOTION BY Jones, seconded Walk the Board of Education adjourn the executive session. MOTION CARRIED, ayes five, absent and not voting two (Breister, Hayes).
