CLUB CREATING VALUE

CLUB MMM COVERS MES AND BRINGS TOP DECISION MAKERS OF CONSUMER GOODS SECTOR TOGER. Lebensmittel Zeitung Study trips, such as here to London, are an expression of the Club culture in practice and offer a chance to take a look at foreign markets. The beginning: A trip to the USA by a group of retailers The MMM Club can look back over a history of more than 50 years. The founding of the Club dates back to a trip to the USA in the early 1960s, in which a delegation of German retailers took part. The high point: a four day MMM seminar in Dayton, Ohio. That seminar with the fascinating Bernardo Trujillo (1920 1971), a pioneer of modern retail, was the origin of the worldwide development of supermarkets and self service department stores. After they returned from the USA, the representatives of the sector agreed that there ought to be a similar platform for the exchange of experience in the German speaking region too. The MMM (Modern Market Methods) Club was founded on 18 May 1962, and the first MMM congress was held in 1963. Since then the MMM Club has grown continuously and enjoys a great reception. The MMM Club today MMM s mission is to bring people together, share ideas, and imagine and feel the future. As a club for entrepreneurs we bring together the leading personalities from retail, industry and the associated economic sectors. We want to enrich the life of our members, be a source of encouragement to look beyond the end of your own nose, and allow progressive thinkers and creators of meaning to have their say. MMM has traditionally concerned itself with the framework conditions within which enterprise functions, and sees itself as a protagonist for a responsible way of acting with a focus on the long term. Ideas can trigger positive changes in retail, and can even change the world. So we invite entrepreneurs, progressive thinkers and decision makers to make space for ideas, learn from one another and maintain dialogue and contacts.
