We are pleased to announce that the American Bar Association s Forum on Air and Space Law will hold a one-day space law conference in. The Forum on Air & Space Law is the premier association of attorneys who work in the field of air and space law. The conference s co-sponsor, the University of Mississippi, is renowned for the United States first and worldclass space law curriculum. It is also the home of the world s oldest, and most important law review on space law: The Journal of Space Law. As Program Co-Chairs, we invite you to attend this leading space law conference. As you will see, we have an exciting agenda. This Conference will recognize that U.S. and international commercial space law has matured into a body of practice that requires a wide variety of legal skills and tools to confront a complex array of issues. Panels will address how space project risk is managed, what the special concerns of space clients may be, whether debris is cluttering outer space, how determinations are made for launching satellites and other vehicles, what level of privacy should be expected, and whether government has the right to interfere with telecommunications. A special panel will feature young lawyers who have dedicated their practice to space law and the challenges they face in this evolving practice area. As always, each panel will consist of recognized authorities, industry experts and pre-eminent lawyers from private practice and government. In addition to a first-rate program, there will be lots of time for networking with other practitioners in the space and legal community, including a reception after the conference that will be sponsored by Jones Day. We look forward to seeing you. Steven H. Taylor Chair, Forum on Air & Space Law Joanne Irene Gabrynowicz University of Mississippi
