CALAVERAS COUNTY IMPARTIAL ANALYSIS BY COUNTY COUNSEL CENTRAL CALAVERAS FIRE AND RESCUE PROTECTION DISTRICT Special Tax Measure E To support and retain fi refi ghters and emergency medical responders to protect our homes and businesses against fi res and to respond and render emergency medical services, shall an annual special parcel tax by the Central Calaveras Fire and Rescue Protection District at $75.00 per parcel, except for exemptions as set forth in Resolution 2017-07, be adopted without expiration. A YES vote on this Measure would grant the Central Calaveras Fire and Rescue Protection District ( District ) legal authority to levy an annual special tax of $75.00 per parcel unless otherwise exempted-- all such parcels to be within the District s boundaries. Approval of this Measure would authorize the District to secure these additional tax revenues to be applied only for purposes described in the Measure, which is authorized by Health and Safety Code section 13911 and Government Code sections 50075 et seq. Approval of the Measure would require compliance with other accountability measures under Government Code section 50075.1 et seq., including establishment of a special account into which the revenues of the special tax shall be deposited, and fi ling of an annual report by the Chief Fiscal Offi cer of the District with the District Board of Directors regarding collection and expenditure of the special tax revenues. A NO vote on this Measure is a vote against the levy of the special tax.
