OCTOBER 2017 20 Annual Affiliation Form, Membership Roster, and Affiliation Fee due. 28 Make A Difference Day YLAs volunteer at Cave Lake. 25 Registration due for Fall Conference at Horseshoe Leadership Center. NOVEMBER 2017 10-12 Legacy of Leadership for 150 Years at Horseshoe Leadership Center, Parsons WV DECEMBER 2017 5 Last day to submit Participation Agreement and Participation Agreement Fee of $75 per person. Late participants may be accepted if program openings remain. JANUARY 2018 28 No later than the 28 th Final Deadline (Students Your Delegation Leader needs all your materials and final fees seven ten days prior to the 28 th ) How to Submit: Legislators: On-line submission of Legislative Proposal, Bill Supplement and Resource Credential. Research may be mailed US Postal Service for your Bill. Another option, is US Postal Service for all Legislative delegate materials sent by Delegation Leader. Press, Pages, Lobbyists, Officers, Adults: On-line submission of individual Registration Form or by US Postal Service. Judicial Delegates: US P ostal Service mail 1 clean copy of your Judicial case with Statement of Facts, Appellant s and Appellee s Brief for each case. (not stapled and single sided, remember to sign) Final Fees - Delegation Leader mails check to YLA. LATE FEE A $25 LATE FEE is added to the Final Fee of any person whose Final Fee, completed Registration, Legislation or Court Material is postmarked after January 28th. FEBRUARY 2018 10 Officers, Committee Chairs, Officer Candidates, Press and Lobbyist meet for training and Bill/Case Rating in Columbus, Ohio. Local Delegations hold practice Committee and Legislative sessions to build experience presenting legis- 2
lative and answering questions. Judicial students hold practice sessions presenting their arguments and answering questions. MARCH 2018 1 Officer Candidate Forms are due. Late March, Bill and Case Books distributed. Upon receipt of Bill Books and Case Books, Legislatives review Bills in their Committee and Legislature. Justices review all appeals. Advisors hold practice sessions for Legislative and Judicial delegates. APRIL 2018 5-7 Student Legislature and Model Supreme Court in Columbus, Ohio. 25 Applications for 2019 Youth Governor s Cabinet, Associate Justice, Press Editor, and Committee Chairs due to YLA YG Office. MAY 2018 15 Early Bird registrations for the Sr. Leadership Summit at Horseshoe receive $50 dollars off the fee. After May 1, the fee is $350. 24 Officers, Committee Chairs, Officer Candidates, and Lobbyist meet for training and Bill/Case Rating at WV Wesleyan College in Buckhannon from 10am-3pm. MARCH 2018 1 Officer Candidate forms are due APRIL 2018 Bill and Case Books distributed. Upon receipt of Bill Books, delegates are to review bills in their committee and legislature. Local delegations are to hold pre-legislative training sessions to go over the Bills in the Bill Book, review procedures for committee and floor sessions, and to be sure all delegates are familiar with what is expected in Charleston. Judicial participants review the cases and hold practice sessions. 27-29 Student Legislature and Model Supreme Court in Charleston, West Virginia.
