White paper: Technical Location Intelligence International geocoding coverage

Page 2 For the past 25 years, organizations have looked to Pitney Bowes for superior Location Intelligence. Our businessstrength solutions are designed not only to provide accurate geocodes but to provide the business insights needed to make better business decisions. As a global solutions provider, Pitney Bowes works with organizations that serve customers around the globe. Our technologies and services have been specifically geared to meet the challenges of today s multinational corporations. Pitney Bowes expands this coverage continuously by adding more countries/territories to a high accuracy level of geocoding. The highest level of geographic accuracy available, ranging from rooftop to administrative and postal boundaries. A growing range of countries/ territories with postal code and city centroid accuracy Key set of core territories with address interpolated accuracy including: rooftop accuracy on at least 12 countries. Other levels available include: Property centroid Landmarks/s of interest/ business name User-generated street-centerline and data Combines USPS and spatial data from Tiger, TomTom and Navteq as well as other 3rd party data providers into a single unified data set. Built-in address verification and cascading logic ensure accuracy Spatial analysis tools let you easily visualize results Local language-specific parser Single OSG-compliant API for ease of deployment Reverse geocoding February 2016 A Pitney Bowes white paper

Page 3 More coverage. Greater accuracy. Pitney Bowes offers geocoding in over 240 countries/ territories worldwide. These offerings are grouped into different categories by the geocoding s positional accuracy level. Each of those levels meets different business needs when performing spatial analysis, visualization and demographics assignment using the geographic coordinates of the geocoding process. Postcode and city accuracy The World Geocoder takes addresses from more than 40 countries/territories worldwide and provides postcode or city centroid coordinates. In countries where no more detailed address data is available, it provides a basic reliable, accuracy level. interpolated accuracy For a key set of 121 countries/territories, Pitney Bowes provides a high accuracy level of address geocoding, interpolated along a house number range on a street segment. This level also provides street centroid and street intersection geocoding. This accuracy level is appropriate for the majority of Location Intelligence applications, especially because the geocoded location could be refined by various offsets. accuracy Highly accurate geocoding is provided by utilizing address data as a reference data set for geocoding. The associated address is returned as it is without any further processing. Depending on the source data, the geocode may come in one of the following flavors: center of the property s location (parcel centroid), center of the building, or even as doorway or post-box, or property entrance. Also, Points Of Interest are covered by this level. Individual country and language/character set Our code base for international geocoding supports UTF-8 character sets, so it is enabled to process all the various world-wide character sets as input and as reference data. However, that does not mean the geocoders can translate and match input from any language into the same language as our reference data out-of-the box.
