To visit Nigeria for tourist or business purposes you need a visa. All visitors not exempted from entry permits are advised to apply and obtain appropriate visas before entry into Nigeria as visas cannot be issued at the port of entry. Visa First can organise tourist and business visas to Nigeria. Citizens of Economic of West African States (ECOWAS) do not require entry permits into Nigeria. Current members of ECOWAS: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo. WHAT DO I NEED TO APPLY FOR MY NIGERIAN VISA? Tourist visa: 1. Original passport, with at least six months validity from the date of application a) Proof of residency if you hold passport, different from the country where you re applying from: ii) Copy of GNIB card iii) Copy of 2 recent utility bills showing the applicant s name and current address from two different suppliers OR iv) Letter from Employer 2. Valid visa to onward destination (if available) 3. Two recent photographs (no laser copies), passport size 4. Online application reference (this is to be provided from us once we submit your details with the Immigrations System) 5. Round trip air ticket confirmation 6. Letter of invitation addressed to the Visa Section, Nigerian High Commission accepting full immigration responsibility with photocopy of inviter s passport OR 7. Copy of confirmed hotel reservation 8. Proof of sufficient funds recent less than 1 month old bank statement showing enough funds to support your travels Business visa: 1. Original passport, with at least six months validity from the date of application a)proof of residency if you hold passport, different from the country where you re applying from: ii) Copy of GNIB card OR iii) Letter from Employer 2. Valid visa to onward destination (if available) 3. Two recent photographs (no laser copies), passport size 4. Online application reference (this is to be provided from us once we submit your details with the Immigrations System) 5. Round trip air ticket confirmation 6. Financial guarantee from current employer, stating name and position of the applicant, purpose of visit as Business meetings, the name of the company to be visited with address and contacts, specify the requested number of entries and the length of visa required 7. Letter from the applicant s employer in Ireland (on the letterhead paper of the establishment) stating the current immigration and employment status of the applicant. The employer must also clearly state that he is aware of the trip to Nigeria 8. Invitation letter from the company in Nigeria or from State Organisation accepting full immigration responsibility to be on company letterhead paper, include the applicant s name, state the purpose of the visit as Business meetings and specify the requested number of entries and the length of visa required 9. Copy of Certificate of Incorporation of the company in Nigeria * When applying for multiple entry visa and your previous Nigerian visa was in an old (expired/cancelled) passport, you need to provide the original old passport (copies are not accepted). If the original old passport is not provided, you will be granted a single entry visa. Temporary Work Permit visa: 1. Original passport, with at least six months validity from the date of application a)proof of residency if you hold passport, different from the country where you re applying from: ii) Copy of GNIB card OR iii)letter from Employer 2. Two passport size photographs

3. Online application reference (this is to be provided from us once we submit your details with the Immigrations System) 4. Approved cablegram from the Comptroller General of Immigration Service, Abuja, which must be received by the Embassy of Nigeria, Dublin (Visa Section). Photocopies of cablegram sent from Nigeria to the Visa Section will not be accepted as an approval until the original is received. 5. Letter from Host Company in Nigeria addressed to the Visa Section accepting full immigration responsibilities. 7. Round trip air ticket confirmation Subject to Regularization Visa (STR Visa): All documents for the STR Visa category must be submitted in 4 copies 1.Original passport, with at least six months validity from the date of application a)proof of residency if you hold passport, different from the country where you re applying from: ii) Copy of GNIB card 2. Four recent passport size photographs 3. Completed online visa form in quadruplicate 4. Letter of Expatriate Quota Approval from Ministry of Interior (must be valid for minimum 6 months) 5. Credentials, certificates and Curriculum Vitae, all vetted by a relevant official of Nigerian High Commission / Embassy (English Certified translated copy where applicable) 6. Letter of offer of employment (stating contract of employment) 6.1 Letter of employment must state the company accepts full immigration responsibility on behalf of the applicant 7. Letter of acceptance of offer by expatriate 8. Certificate of Incorporation of the company in Nigeria Interviews may be required Family members accompanying Principal Applicants applying for the STR visa should also apply under the same category * The Nigerian Embassy may call the applicant directly if additional information or documents are required. The processing time is 10 working days once the application is with the Embassy. Please have in mind that the Nigerian Embassy is closed every Friday! When should I apply for my visa to Nigeria? You should apply not earlier than 3 months of your expected arrival date. How much time I could spend in Nigeria? You can chose from 3-month Single Entry or 3-month Multiple Entry visa. * When applying for the first time for the Nigerian visa, you can apply fo a single entry visa only!
