The criteria for this award is best shown by a Lion or a non-lion through the definitions of Lions Objects and Ethics This award is presented to any individual who has unselfishly served the needs of their community and the people who live within it. Showing true service by working their career honestly, with dignity, and with dedication, by giving sympathy to those of the community who are in distress, giving aid to the weak, and giving of their substance to the needy. These people demonstrate the principles of good government and good citizenship. They take an active interest in all the aspects of their community and serve with good will and courage. Award recipients do not have to be a club member, they may belong to the Lions Club, or any community member not connected with Lions, and/or belong to another organization.
