ENACTED ARRESTEE DNA DATABASE LEGISLATION As of September 2016 ALABAMA House Bill 146 Enacted 2009 SPONSOR: Representative Ronald Johnson Increased the public safety fee to $12 to pay for testing. SENATE VOTE: 28-1 HOUSE VOTE: 98-1 ALASKA House Bill 90 Enacted June 2007 SPONSOR: Representative Ralph Samuels Expands DNA database to include felony arrests for sex crimes and violent crimes and felony domestic abuse. Directs the crime lab to make reasonable effort to process the DNA samples within 90 days. SENATE VOTE: 20-0 HOUSE VOTE: 39-1 ARIZONA House Bill 2787 Enacted May 2007 SPONSOR: Senator Chuck Gray* Expands DNA database to include felony arrests for homicide, manslaughter, murder, indecent exposure, public sexual indecency, sex abuse, sexual contact with a minor, sex assault, child molestation, bestiality, burglary, keeping or residing in a house of prostitution, prostitution, incest, soliciting abortion through a weapon. Increased the public safety fee from 3% on all civil and criminal fines to 7% to pay for testing. SENATE VOTE: 26-2 HOUSE VOTE: 43 16 *Omnibus crime package. Sen. Public Safety Fee of $2.50 to be charged on each conviction for all felonies, misdemeanors, misdemeanor traffic charges, and traffic infractions.
