Education Report The 2014 conference was once again held at the Juniper Lodge in Banff. Since the 70 s theme went over so well last year, we decided to advance a decade and make this year s theme Rock of Ages Our conference started on Wednesday evening in the hospitality cabin where we socialized with colleagues and friends. We even sang a little Karaoke. A great time was had by all and the tone was set for a successful conference. Thursday morning started with a delicious breakfast, followed by a morning of informative and interesting speakers. Travis, our president started the conference off and then we had informative presentations from the following 1. Steve DeColle Cultural Competence 2. Susan Walker & Sue Steckle Provincial Quality Program Update 3. Dr. Bill Sevcik - Helping Build Healthcare Projects in the Developing World: A Few Things I Have Learned the Hard Way 4. Dr. Jason Prevost- Influenza: History & Imaging Members then had a chance to enjoy a delicious lunch while taking in the captivating mountain landscape. The afternoon began with the Annual General Meeting, and finished off with 5. Lyndsay Arndt ACCLXT update 6. Kathy Hilsenteger ACMDTT & ADSA update 7. Susan Walker - Provincial DI Safety & QC Members concluded the business day and started to prepare for the 80 s party later that evening at the Juniper Bistro. One thing is for sure, the laughs started early. The costumes were amazing. Celebrities were sotted everywhere in the mountains. The cast of The Breakfast Club showed up. And we had appearances by Bert and Ernie, Madonna, Pat Benetar, MC Hammer, and a few 80 s graduates. The AARM Lifetime Member Award was postponed until the 2015 conference. Past President award was presented to Darrin Gerl, who could not attend this year, but he did send a fabulous message to the group. Friday morning s session was given by our guest keynote speaker, Margaret Murphy. She ran a workshop on, I m all Ears: The Art and Craft of Listening. The workshop was well received and this prompted the executive and education committee to explore other leadership workshops for future conferences. The AARM Executive and Education Committee would once again like to take this opportunity to thank all who attended the 2014 conference Rock of Ages. We would also like to thanks our vendors who so generously supported this conference! Thank you! The 2014 Education Committee
