TEXAS ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE COMMISSION (458) Unaudited LOCAL OPTION ELECTIONS There were twenty-two local option elections during the fiscal year ending August 31, 1988. Four elections were called to legalize the sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages; two remained "dry" and two became "wet." One election was called to legalize the sale of beer and wine; one remained "dry." One election was called to prohibit the sale of all alcoholic beverages for offpremise consumption only; one remains "wet-" Eight elections were called to legalize the sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only; three remain "dry" and five became "wet." Two elections were called to legalize the sale of beer for off-premise consumption only; one became "wet" and one remained "dry. II Six elections were called to legalize the sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only; five became "wet" and one remained "dry." The voting for the fiscal year: 8LANCO COUNTY A local option election was held on Novem~er 3, 1987, in Precinct 3, Blanco County, for the issue of "The legal sale of an alcoholic beverages, inc 1ud ing mi xed beverages. II The elect ion passed by a vote of 360 FOR and 114 AGAINST. Precinct 3, Blanco County, was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages. CALDWELL COUNTY A local option election was held on November 7. 1987, in the Town of Martindale, Caldwell County, for the issue of "The legal sale of all a1coho 1i c beverages, inc 1ud ing mi xed beverages. II The election fa i led by a vote of 23 FOR and 122 AGAINST. The Town of Martindale, Caldwell County, was "dry" before the election and Y'emained "dry." CALDWELL COUNTY A local option election was held on November 13, 1987, in Precinct 3, Caldwell County, for the issue of "The legal sale of beer and wine." The election failed by a vote of 216 FOR and 369 AGAINST. Precinct 3. Caldwell County, was "dry" before the election and remains "dry."

COLLI N COUNTY A local option election was held on October la, 1987. in the City of New Hope, Collin County. for the issue of "The legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only." The election failed by a vote of 72 FOR and 200 AGAINST. City of New Hope, Collin County, was "dry" before the election and remains "dry." COOKE COUNTY A local option election was held on October 12, 1987, in the City of Oak Ridge, Cooke County, for the issue of "The legal sale of beer for off-premise consumption only." The election passsed by a vote of 52 FOR and 4 AGAINST. The City of Oak Ridge, Cooke County, was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the legal sale of beer for off-premise consumption only. CORYELL COUNTY A local option election was held on June 4, 1988. in the City of Fort Gates, Coryell County, for the issue of "The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only." The election passed by a vote of 177 FOR and 144 AGAINST. The City of Fort Gates. Coryell County, was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only. CROCKETT COUNTY A local option election was held on June 3, 1988, in Crockett County for the issue of "The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for offpremise consumption only." The election passed by a vote of 659 FOR and 550 AGAINST. Crockett County was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for offpremise consumption only. -75

The election passed by a vote of 163 FOR and 17 AGAINST. The City of Gun Barrel City, Henderson County, was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for offpremise consumption only. HILL COUNTY A local option election was held on April 9, 1988, in the City of Itasca, Hill County, for the issue Of "The legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only." The election passed by a vote of 233 FOR and 229 AGAINST. The City of Itasca, Hill County, was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only. HILL COUNTY A local option election was held on March 19, 1988, in the City of Carls Corner, Hill County, for the issue of "The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages." The election passed by a vote of 22 FOR and 0 AGAINST. The City of Carls Corner, Hill County, was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages. JACKSON COUNTY A local option election was held on May 7, 1988, in J.P. Precinct 2, Jackson County, for the issue of "The legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only. II The election passed by a vote of 492 FOR and 456 AGAINST. J.P. Precinct 2, Jackson County, was "dryll before the election and became "wet" for the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only. KAUFMAN COUNTY A local option election was held on July 9, 1988, in the City of Kaufman, Kaufman County, for the issue of lithe legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption on1y.1i The election passed by a vote of 540 FOR and 478 AGAINST. The election passed by a vote of 393 FOR and 235 AGAINST. Precinct 2. Llano County. was partially "wet" before the election and became totally "wet." LLANO COUNTY A local option election was held on April 9. 1988, in J.P. Precinct 3, Llano County, for the issue of "The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages." The election failed by a vote of 390 FOR and 525 AGAINST. J.P. Precinct 3. Llana County, was "dry" before the election and remains "dry." MEDINA COUNTY A local option election was held on July 9, 1988, in Precinct, 1, Medina County, for the issue of "The legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only." The election passed by a vote of 142 FOR and 31 AGAINST. Precinct 1, Medina County, was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the sale of beer and wine for offpremise consumption only. MONTAGUE COUNTY A local option election was held on April 23, 1988, in Precinct 1, Montague County, for the issue of "The legal sale of beer for offpremise consumption only." The election failed by a vote of 1,116 FOR and 1,208 AGAINST. Precinct 1, Monta~ue County, was "dry" before the election and remains "dry." MCLENNAN COUNTY A local option election was held on October 10, 1987, in Precinct 7. McLennan County. for the issue of "The legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only."
