To amend sections 4121.50, 4729.20, and 5167.12; to amend, for the purpose of adopting a new section number as indicated in parentheses, section 5167.12 (5164.092); to enact section 5167.05; and to repeal section 5167.13

To enact section 3501.054 of the Revised Code to establish a Director of Elections Cybersecurity and an Elections Cybersecurity Council to advise the Secretary of State on securing Ohio's elections and preventing future threats. H. B. No. 467 - Representative Clyde. Cosponsors: Representatives Ingram, Smith, K., Galonski, Reece, Boggs, Lepore-Hagan, West, Leland. To amend sections 3505.21, 3506.02, 3506.07, 3506.19, 3506.21, and 3506.22 and to enact sections 3505.331 and 3506.022 of the Revised Code, and to amend sections 3506.05 and 3506.10 and to repeal section 3506.22 of the Revised Code on January 1, 2019, to require the boards of elections to conduct audits of election results and, beginning in 2019, to use only voting equipment that produces voter marked and voter verified paper ballots. To amend sections 107.036, 5725.98, and 5729.98 and to enact sections 122.09, 5725.35, and 5729.18 of the Revised Code to authorize a nonrefundable insurance company tax credit for contributions of capital to transformational mixed use development projects. H. B. No. 470 - Representative Edwards. To amend sections 515.01 and 5705.19 of the Revised Code to authorize a property tax levy specifically to fund lighting for roads and public places. Hoops to fill the vacancy in the membership of the House of Representatives created by the resignation of Robert McColley of the 81st House District. WHEREAS, Section 11 of Article II of the Ohio Constitution provides for the filling of a vacancy in the membership of the House of Representatives by election by the members of the House of Representatives who are affiliated with the same political party as the person last elected to the seat which has become vacant; and WHEREAS, Robert McColley of the 81st House District, has resigned as a member of the House of Representatives of the 132nd General Assembly effective December 5, 2017, thus creating a vacancy in the House of Representatives; therefore be it RESOLVED, By the members of the House of Representatives who are affiliated with the Republican party that James M. Hoops, Republican, having the qualifications set forth in the Ohio Constitution and the laws of Ohio to be a member of the House of Representatives from the 81st House District, is hereby elected, effective January 17, 2018, pursuant to Section 11 of Article II of the Ohio Constitution, as a member of the House of Representatives from the 81st House District, to fill the vacancy created by the unexpired portion of the term of said Robert McColley, ending on December 31, 2018; and be it further
