Broehl, Frank Fulkerth, Clem A. Yelle, George Gannon, and Frank W. Zink. The Maynard-Price Post of Pullman was part of the larger Whitman County Organization #1 which was formed during the same time period. Many other area towns also had posts, including: Colfax, Colton, LaCrosse, Rosalia, Tekoa and Garfield. The Pullman Post was named for two local men killed in action during World War I, Boyd Maynard and Ivan Price. The main goals of the Pullman American Legion included gaining government and public support for veterans and community betterment. One of the specific projects of the post was the construction of the Legion Hall/Medical Center building at Blaine and Grand streets in Pullman in the early 1950's. The building was later sold in 1969. The Legion also sponsored many children's programs and Summer Legion Baseball. Content Description 1
