Statistics for FR: The number of third-country nationals identified as smuggled persons is not recorded by Central Directorate of Border Police (only number of smugglers and networks are recorded). The number of residence s granted to smuggled persons is not recorded (residence s are recorded for victims of trafficking. 1499 persons were sued and 1186 persons convicted for facilitating illegal entry and stay (figures for 2015). Statistics for NL: Smuggled persons: on this list number of smuggled persons is less than number of apprehended smugglers. Firstly, this list only concerns figures from Royal Nerlands Marechaussee. There is no information is available from National Police on this subject. Secondly, role smuggled persons is not always properly recorded in our information systems; refore numbers are not fully complete.. Number of reflection periods: we do not record any information se numbers in our information systems. Number of arrested smugglers: results National Police are included within se numbers. Number of convicted human traffickers: this number is not related to number of arrested suspects. The investigation and prosecution of human traffickers often is a lengthy process. This number can refore relate to findings in 2015, which only lead to conviction in 2016. Additionally, a part number of arrested human traffickers will appear in court in 2017. Statistics for NO: Numbers are per 28 th April 2017 and are not final numbers for 2016. Statistics for SE: In 2016, Swedish Police accused a total of 225 persons of smuggling third-country nationals into Sweden. If a suspected smuggler is a Swedish resident, he/she is normally not arrested or detained. Swedish authorities assume that most people coming to Sweden to apply for asylum have made use of facilitators/smugglers to enter European Union territory.
