ASB Position Descriptions President Prepares the agenda for and presides at Cabinet/Executive Sessions. Represents the SCCASB at appropriate ceremonial, social and political occasions. May serve on any SCCASB Committee. Appoints Executive Cabinet members, SCCASB Supreme Court, SCCASB Standing and Ad-Hoc Committee Chairs and representatives to all shared Governance Councils and Committees, with the approval of the SCCASB Senate. Represents the SCCASB at meetings of the RSCCD Board of Trustees, SCC and RSCCD Foundations and SCC Presidents Council. The President may appoint a designee if he/she is unable to attend. Presents the SCCASB Budget to RSCCD Board of Trustees. Shall appear before the SCCASB Senate monthly and at the first and last regular session of each semester to present the state of the SCCASB relative to past achievements, current standing and future goals. Authority to sign off on SCCASB funds when the Treasurer is absent. May request other member of the SCCASB, with simple majority approval of the SCCASB Senate, to perform duties not stated within the SCCASB Constitution and/or Bylaws.
Vice-President Assumes the duties of the President in his/her absence. Prepares the agenda and presides at SCCAB Senate Sessions. Represent the SCCASB, along with the President, at appropriate ceremonial, social and political occasions. May serve on any SCCASB Committee. Represents the SCCASB at meetings of the Academic Senate. The Vice President may appoint a designee if he/she is unable to attend. Provides the SCCASB Senate Minutes to the Cabinet (Executive), and reads the SCCASB Cabinet Minutes to the SCCASB Senate. Reports vacancies of the cabinet to the Senate. Executive Recording Secretary Records and distributes minutes of Exec. Meetings. Types the SCCASB Cabinet Agenda and distributes it 72 hours prior to the next meeting. Records and reports attendance of Exec. Meetings. Keeps updated publicly accessible copies of the Constitution and Bylaws. Responsible for the upkeep of the SCCASB Files, of all past and present Minutes and Agendas. Assists Exec. Officers in the execution of their assumed duties and functions. Performs other duties as requested by the President.
Inter-Club Council (ICC) President Prepares the agenda for and presides over the Inter-Club Council (ICC) meetings. Initiates disciplinary action regarding any organizational infraction of rules and regulations pertaining to clubs/organizations. Monitors club/organization activities and serves as liaison between clubs/organizations and the Cabinet and SCCASB Senate. Acts as a Resource Officer for all clubs/organizations at SCC. Reviews and submits petitions for new clubs/organizations to the Inter-Club Council (ICC) for approval. Directs a Club Rush event each semester. Provides a monthly Club Report, written or oral, to the Inter-Club Council (ICC), Cabinet and SCCASB. Provides club/organization information to the Minister of Public Relations Officer for publication. Minister of Public Relations Serves as chair for the Publicity and Promotions Committee. Review and registers information materials promoting SCCASB and/or club/organization activities and/or meetings. Responsible for implementation and enforcement of the SCC Publicity Code and Regulations. Shall coordinate publicity and press releases to be directed to on-campus and off-campus sources. Responsible for taking photographs of SCCASB sponsored or co-sponsored events and mounting them in the SCCASB scrapbook. Responsible for collecting newspaper clippings and photos and displaying them in the student activities center before mounting them in the SCCASB scrapbook. Assists the ASB Court during Elections, with Publicity policy and procedures.
Treasurer Oversees finances and processes allocations and monies approved by the Cabinet, SCCASB Senate and/or the appropriate committee(s). Gives monthly reports to the Cabinet and SCCASB Senate on the current status of the budget. Signs requisitions for SCCASB funds. Serves as chair for the Budget and Finance Committee. Two Senators will serve on this committee. Must review and approve budget allocations prior to legislative action. Minister of Social Affairs Serves as chair for the Social Affairs Committee. Acts as Director and Resource Officer for all SCCASB supported activities. Responsible for implementing and enforcing the Social Affairs Code. Will provide, upon request, a summary of past SCCASB activities. Will prepare a monthly calendar of events. Shall be accessible to all campus clubs and help to coordinate activities with participating clubs.
Minister of Recruitment Serves as chair of the Recruitment Committee. Involved with recruiting functions on/off campus. Act as a Liaison between SCC outreach and the ASB, to coordinate ASB speakers for recruitment at orientations. Responsible for SCCASB recruiting functions on/off campus. Minister of Rules and Justice Chair of the following committees: Rules and Justice Committee and Elections Committee. To prosecute for the SCCASB before the SCCASB Supreme Court. To defend the SCCASB when it is involved in litigation before the SCCASB Supreme Court. To enforce the SCCASB Constitution and its Bylaws and any or all-existing rules governing operations and procedures of the SCCASB including Robert s Rules of Order Newly Revised. To serve as prosecutor on behalf of the SCCASB, in all impeachment proceedings hearings and impeachment trials. To assist, upon request, in the initiative, referendum, recall, or impeachment procedures by reviewing the petition(s) to insure conformity to the requirements as stated in the SCCASB Bylaws.
Minister of Health Awareness Chair of the Health Awareness Committee. Plan and coordinate all health awareness related events such as the annual blood drive etc. Is responsible for the budget of expenditures for all Health Awareness Committee related events. Shall report the planning and execution of events to the Executive Cabinet and Senate. Minister of Cultural Awareness Serves as chair of the Cultural Awareness Committee. Shall coordinate and assist with planning of multicultural activities. Shall be accessible to all campus clubs and help to coordinate activities with participating clubs. Prepare and submit a calendar of annual events and projection of expenses for each event. Keep Senate informed about scheduled events.
Minister of Environmental Awareness Serves as chair of the Environmental Committee. Shall plan and coordinate all Environmental Awareness related events such as Earth Day. Responsible for the budget of expenditures for all Environmental Awareness Committee related events. Shall report the planning and execution of events to the Executive Cabinet and Senate. Minister of Athletics To serve as the student representative to the Athletic Department. Advertise and promote athletic events. Meet with members of the Athletics Department and reports to Cabinet current programs and activities that are coming up.
