Approval of Agenda. A motion was made by Tim Condict to approve the agenda, second by Kevin Hinkebien. Motion carries unanimously. 4. Approval of Minutes from December 10, 2013. A motion was made by Matt Harmon, second by Greg Kenyon, to approve the minutes from December 10, 2013, without changes. Motion carries unanimously. 5. ACA Scientific Advisor Approval. Dr Don Davis has been spending time with us helping understand CWD and its impacts. In order for him to justify his time, we would need to make him an official advisor of the ACA. His credentials have been distributed. A motion was made by Scott Bugai representing the Texas Deer Association, second by Gary Olson of the Minnesota Deer Farmers Association, to approve naming Dr Don Davis as the ACA s Scientific Advisor. Wisconsin CWD Update. Laurie Seale of Whitetails of Wisconsin gave an update from the Flees Farm. 7. Version 23 of CWD Program Standards Concerns & Comment Period. Moderator Eric Mohlman said the new CWD Standards version 23 has been released and there are still several concerns. The 90 day comment period has started and ends March 31, 2014. We can give comments at any time. We do have to wonder after 23 versions how much progress we will get and what will we do if it is not acceptable. 8. Discussion of CWD Rule. Moderator Eric Mohlman said they have been focusing on the standards, but now the rule itself, is causing concern in WI and other states by tying the hands on state ag officials that are actually trying to help the industry. The ACA has had several calls and emails asking what the industry we can do about the rule itself, since it alone, is causing these whole herd quarantines. Discussion revolved around if they industry saw benefits of having a federal rule. 9. CWD Live Test. Laurie Seale of Whitetails of Wisconsin have an update on the live test possibility. A motion was made to create the ACA Live CWD Test Committee by Gary Olson of the Minnesota Deer Farmers Association, second by Todd Landt of the Iowa Whitetail Deer Association.

Travis Lowe of the Kansas Cervid Breeders Association said several people have asked if the ACA would consider starting its own foundation to hold funds earmarked for research for the ACA that can be tax deductible. by Charly Seale of the Exotic Wildlife Association, second by Kevin Hinkebein of the Missouri Elk Farmers Association, to approve the ACA create a 501c3 and bring bylaws to the next meeting. 11. Media Review Committee Recommendation. The Media Review Committee has submitted a recommendation of an article from St Louis. Chairman Charly Seale said the committee recommended sending a letter to the St. Louis Post-Journal for the article labeled Approach to deer disease stirs debate in Missouri correcting several inaccurate facts. A motion was made by Kevin Hinkebein of the Missouri Elk Farmers Association, second by Brian Wagner for the Minnesota Elk Breeders Association, to adopt the Media Review Committee s recommendations from January 7, 2014. Chairman Warren Bluntzer said the committee is meeting and working on recommendations. 13. Approval of Payment for USAHA 2014 Dues. Moderator Eric Mohlman said the ACA as an allied organization of USAHA, they must pay their dues of $600 for 2014. Angie Kerry, ACA Councilwoman representing New York, is on the call provided a New York update. 15. USDA s Response from Letters Sent to Dr TJ Myers. The ACA and several associations wrote letters to Dr TJ Myers last November. The USDA is scheduling a conference call with those associations that wrote letters to discuss this. 16.
