Methods of payment What the editors say about IJBSIP This is an exciting and most timely initiative in which I am honoured to participate. This is an emerging field which merits a journal of the highest standards and provides a place for excellent research to appear in its own context. I fully expect this journal to be become an indispensable tool for all researchers in the field. Elspeth Guild Queen Mary, University of London, UK Border security and immigration policy are key challenges in the contemporary moment. They are areas of innovation and investment but also areas where policies and technologies have real and sometimes detrimental human consequences. We need world-class scholarship and critical thinking in the areas of border security and immigration policy. I expect that this exciting new journal will become the focus of scholarship, debate and critical thinking in these areas. Dr Mark Maguire Rowan House, NUI Maynooth It is with great pleasure that I accept the invitation to become a member of IJBSIP. The study of the phenomenon and issues associated with international migration is a neglected area in current journals. This publication will fill a much needed gap, leading towards coherent and comprehensive policy approaches. Susan Kneebone Monash University, I am both honoured and excited to be part of the Editorial Board of this important and promising new journal. In an era where national and international security represent universal concerns because burgeoning challenges of transnational crime and immigration policies, it is essential to provide an informed platform for sharing ideas, research, and critical discourse. I anticipate that the IJBSIP can, and will, become the leading journal in this field. John Winterdyk Mount Royal University, IJBSIP is going to be a new publication in the significant field of border and immigration studies. This is a field currently marked by deep suspicion, xenophobia, and absence of historical knowledge. The situation calls for scientific research and above all a humanistic respect for the principle of freedom of movement. I am therefore delighted to be a part of this venture.
