Macedonian Ecological Society announces the 5 TH CONGRESS OF ECOLOGISTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION Ohrid, Macedonia 19 th -22 October 2016 S. Hristovski Macedonian Ecological Society is pleased to announce the 5 th Congress of Ecologists of the Republic of Macedonia, with international participation. This will be our first truly international Congress, with editorial board comprised of scientists from nine countries in the region. It will provide a platform for presentation of the latest scientific research in ecology in the countries of the Balkan region and South-east Europe. The Congress will also provide a rare opportunity for exchange of experience and knowledge among ecologists, conservationists, environmentalists and practitioners in forestry, agriculture, chemistry, economy and other related disciplines. The international character of the Congress will guarantee better communication among scientists of the region and increased quality of the presentations. The presentation will be distributed into nine sections, covering broad topics reflecting the wide range of research done over the last several years. The 5 th Congress of Ecologists of the Republic of Macedonia aims to fill a major gap in international scientific meetings in the region and will thus maintain and advance the cooperation in ecology as a whole. 1

The presented papers that will be approved for publication by the Scientific and Editorial Committee will be published in the Congress Proceedings (January 2017). Authors are also welcome to submit their papers for publication in the Macedonian Ecological Society Macedonian Journal of Ecology and Environment (www.mjee.org.mk), which offers double peer-review and is edited by an international board. 3

Instructions for preparation of abstracts Abstracts should be submitted electronically, to congress@mes.org.mk. Following preliminary review process, they will be compiled in a Congress Abstract book. Please use MS Word text editor. Send unformatted text, font siže 12, Times New Roman. Do not use all caps in the title. The abstract should contain title, full names of the author(s), author(s) affiliation, full address(es) of the author(s) (institute, faculty, university, school, street and street number, city, state, žip code), including e-mail(s). Limit you abstracts to 300 words. Provide 3-7 key words, that are not contained in the paper title. The text should be in English language. Underline the name of the presenter for both oral and poster presentations. The abstracts should include introductory statement (introduces the general subject matter of the study), justification (comments on the importance of looking at the phenomenon in question), objectives (specifies the objectives of the study), methods (principal methods employed, without details), results and discussion (list most important, specific findings and add an interpretive comment ("discussion") to each), and conclusions and significance (summariže the major message of the observations and comment on their significance). Citations, references, tables and figures should not be included.
