Photos from Twitter Bongo s bad moves build up By SUN REPORTER The DA says it intends to lay criminal charges against recently appointed State Security Minister Bongani Bongo. This follows reports in Sunday newspapers claiming the minister tried to bribe the evidence leader of the parliamentary inquiry into state capture, Advocate Ntuthuzelo Vanara. It s believed Bongo offered the advocate a blank cheque to resign. Following the alleged offer, Vanara immediately submitted an affidavit to parliament detailing Bongo s attempt to block the investigation. National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete confirmed this. The DA also intends laying a charge with the public protector. In addition to the committee s investigation, we will lay criminal charges of corruption against Minister Bongo in terms of the Prevention of Corrupt Activities Act... and will lodge a formal complaint with the public protector to investigate Bongo s alleged violation of the Executive Members Ethics Act. The latest allegations of corruption against Bongo suggest he tried to actively collapse the state capture inquiry by offering Vanara a bribe to resign as evidence leader in the probe into allegations of state capture at Eskom, said DA chief whip John Steenhuisen. It s not going well for Bongo. He is also under investigation by the Hawks for his alleged involvement in fraud as head of legal services in the human settlements department in Mpumalanga in 2012. DJ denies that he hates maskandi By JABULANI LANGA DJ Tira took to Facebook on Thursday and posted about how disappointed he was in his homeboy Mroza. He wrote in Zulu: Waze wangiphoxa umroza umkhaya wami kodwa wena uyazi wenzani. Siyakuthanda siyi-durban s Finest! Okuhle kodwa kwingoma yakho entsha. Abangaziyo bayazi ukuthi ngiyawuthanda umaskandi. But the Sobulala uvan Damme hitmaker s fans did not take kindly to DJ Tira s post. The fans, who refer to themselves as amabhinca, flooded DJ Tira s page with insults. Ibhinca is the Zulu word for an unsophisticated or uncivilised person. They accused him of undermining maskandi and of being jealous of Mroza s success. Some allegedly sent him death threats. In the end Tira deleted his post. Amabhinca have warned Tira not to attend any music festival where maskandi artists will be performing. Last week, Daily Sun published a story about Mroza s new song, Tira no Sox. In the song, Mroza accuses Tira and Sox of undermining maskandi. Tira told the People s Paper he is praying for peace and calm. I didn t wrong anyone, he said. I want people to be happy and enjoy music because the festive season is just around the corner. I love them even though they insulted me. He said he had nothing against maskandi and was featured by maskandi group Shabalala Rhythm on their track, Please Call Me. I m also adding Khuzani Mpungose and Igcokamelisha to the line-up of artists to perform at the Fact Durban Rocks next month, he said. DJ Tira says he is praying for peace and calm. Lucky Nxumalo Green pants mystery By MZAMANI MATHYE UNDERWEAR left on a washline was found hanging in a tree in the bush! According to the owner, Gezani Maluleke (38) from Qaza Village in Limpopo, he had a bath last Sunday. I then hung my underwear and facecloth on the washingline. I went out, and when I returned my green underpants were gone. On Saturday a woman from the village who was collecting firewood in the bush saw my underwear hanging from a branch in a marula tree, he said. Gezani, who lives alone, said he didn t ask his neighbours about his missing piece of clothing because he was afraid they would think he was accusing them of evil. I went to the tree, which is about a kilometre from my Gezani Maluleke s underwear went missing from his wash line and turned up hanging in a tree 1km from his house. Mzamani Mathye house, and there was my underwear in the tree. I had to use a stick to get the pants down, he said. Asked if he would continue to wear the underpants, Gezani said he hasn t decided what to do. Maybe I need to consult a prophet or inyanga to explain the mystery behind all this. Village headman Risenga Qaza said: What s underwear doing in a tree? A tree can t wear clothes. I appeal to all villagers to stop playing tricks on others. They must behave like human beings not animals. Traditional healer Nwaxithlangoma Chauke said: Gezani needs to consult a strong inyanga because there might a woman out there trying to force him to love her, or maybe casting a bad spell on him. Antifreeze heals people pastor Oscar Pistorius movie fails to impress Mzansi By TEBOGO MOKWENA THE new Oscar Pistorius movie is out and SunLanders are fuming. People who watched Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer on Saturday night took to social media to criticise the use of the old South African flag and the cast s fake South African accents. @HLOSquared tweeted: How is it that in the first few minutes they have Oscar running past a truck with four old SA flags on the front? @DeenickJ tweeted: You can t expect Americans to tell a South African story. This is why the Oscar Pistorius movie turned out to be a mess. It s a crappy movie with bad acting and people who can t speak in an African accent. @AdhitiN: This movie is so bad! Firstly, South Africans don t have Australian accents and secondly, it s a ridiculous representation of the events. It looks like a joke and it Twitter users say Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer was filled with untalented actors who couldn t get the South African accent right. shouldn t because an innocent person lost her life. @Mamorenakhasu: This movie is such crap. The people s accents are so weird they can t even pronounce the character s surnames properly. Lifetime, please stop making such unnecessary and senseless movies. Respect South Africans and let us tell our own stories. On Facebook, users were equally vocal about their criticism. Elmer van Zyl wrote: This is the worst acting I have ever seen. Jeanine Kruger posted: How disappointing. For South Africans, this movie was in bad taste. Rather stay away from this socalled movie. Prophet Rufus Phala s congregation drink the dangerous liquid during his prayer services. Desmond Boshego By DESMOND BOSHEGO HE used to heal his congregation with Dettol, but now, claims the pastor, he has something even better. Through God s power, he says he makes antifreeze taste like other soft drinks. Pastor Rufus Phala of the AK Spiritual Christian Church in Makotopong Village, outside of Polokwane, Limpopo told Daily Sun when his members drink antifreeze, it becomes their favourite drink. My antifreeze heals my people. Phala said God told him the ministry was challenged by Satan and the antifreeze would chase Satan s spirit from his church. He said the liquid, normally used in car engines, brings healing and peace. I drink it and miracles happened in my life. The scriptures said with God everything is possible and He said miracles will follow those who believe. Phala claimed the antifreeze stops boozers from drinking beer. This can only be dangerous to the congregation before God. Whatever I m doing is a message from God. I shouldn t be judged. Limpopo health spokesman Thabiso Teffo said antifreeze is dangerous. People should ignore such churches as this is a disgrace. Patients aren t healed by dangerous liquids.

DAILY SUN 4 MOLEFE MARCHES ON! It seems he s a defence specialist Molefe breaks down during his media address on the State of Capture report. City Press Brian Molefe in uniform as an honorary colonel of the SA Irish regiment while laying a wreath in 2014 at the Talana Museum, where the first battle of the Anglo Boer War took place. Northern Natal Courier Brian Molefe is sworn in as an ANC MP by Speaker Baleka Mbete. Photo from Twitter By SIFISO JIMTA SINCE Brian Molefe resigned as Eskom CEO, he s made some interesting moves, including being sworn in as an MP. Now Molefe is apparently is marching on as a colonel in the defence force and being paid R57 000 a month. Defence spokesman Siphiwe Dlamini said Molefe was one of a pool of specialists who help the army with auditing queries from the auditor-general. The army uses these specialists when a specific skill is needed that can be found in the reserve force, said Dlamini. Molefe was appointed in 2009 as an honorary colonel of the SA Irish regiment and performed a wreath-laying in this ceremonial capacity in 2014. The Defence Act states that honorary members are not entitled to benefits or compensation. According to regulations, they must also have proper qualifications and training for their posts. Dlamini said Molefe was called up earlier but denied that this is currently the case, despite payroll information seen by Rapport this week. Angry soldiers who heard about his appointment told City Press Molefe had no background in the military s financial systems and auditing processes. People aired their opinions on Twitter. ) Joburg mayor Herman Mashaba said: When is Molefe going to stop abusing us and our country? ) Defence union national secretary Pikkie Greeff said Molefe s appointment or call-up is unlawful and a criminal offence. He and whoever appointed him has committed fraud. ) SABC journalist Bulelani Phillip said: Molefe reportedly is employed in the army yet is still fighting to be Eskom CEO. He was an MP yet he was on leave at Eskom. ) Former Business Day editor Songezo Zibi said: Molefe is having an envious career. Now I hear he has something to do with the army. What a legend! Molefe did not respond to requests for comments. 12 pupils tear their hair out! Murdered best friends buried By ZIMBILI VILAKAZI EXAMS are stressful enough without having to worry about teachers who refuse to respect your beliefs. Twelve pupils who re members of the Nazareth Baptist church, known as Shembe, are allegedly being insulted by their principal and teachers because they won t cut their hair. According to parents of pupils at Mtwazi Combined School in Mkuze, northern KZN, keeping their hair unshaved is an important part of their religion. Parent Solani Nkosi (64) said their kids are being forced to chose between their religion and education. These teachers look down on our religion, said Solani. She said at the beginning of the year they informed the school their kids won t cut their hair. These teachers even pull our kids hair and tell them to tell the church leader to open a school where their customs will be understood, claimed Solani. Shembe church leader Wellington Myeni said they will complain to the equality court to put an end to the alleged discrimination of pupils by teachers. We re tired of being treated like this. We ve made statements and I ll be taking them to court to find a solution, he said. KZN education spokesman Kwazi Mthethwa said the department condemned employees who target pupils because of their cultural or religious beliefs. He said: Mzansi is a democratic country.
