I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Lauren Taylor, President. II. III. NEW BUSINESS (continued) C. RESOLUTIONS 1. WHEREAS, on April 9, 2015, by resolution of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Lambert Shell (hereinafter Dr. Shell ) was appointed Library Director of the Roosevelt Public Library, subject to approval of the Nassau County Civil Service Commission; and WHEREAS, by said resolution, the president of the Board of Trustees and library counsel were authorized and directed to negotiate the terms and conditions of employment of Dr. Shell as Library Director; and WHEREAS, by actions dated November 30, 2015 and December 1, 2015, approval was granted to the Roosevelt Public Library by the Nassau County Civil Service Commission to employ Dr. Shell as Library Director; and WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of employment of Dr. Shell as Library Director have been negotiated and concluded; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the actions of the Board of Trustees on April 9, 2015 in connection with the appointment and employment of Dr. Lambert Shell as Library Director of the Roosevelt Public Library be and hereby is ratified; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a certain Memorandum of Agreement in connection with the employment of Dr. Shell be and hereby is ratified and approved, subject to such final modifications as may be recommended by library counsel; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the president of the Board of Trustees or her designee be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute said Memorandum of Agreement on behalf of the Roosevelt Public Library and Board of Trustees; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of the Roosevelt Public Library congratulates Dr. Shell on his appointment as Library Director and extends a warm welcome to him as he takes up his official duties on December 14, 2015; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the provisions of this resolution shall take effect immediately. NEW BUSINESS (continued) President Taylor and the Board of Trustees congratulated and welcomed Mr. Gerald Smith to the Roosevelt Public Library Board of Trustees. President Taylor and the Board of Trustees congratulated Ms. Ann Hickson for being elected to the Board of Trustees. Ms. Hickson s term will begin January 1, 2015. President Taylor and the Board of Trustees bid farewell and thanked Dr. Bola Majekodunmi for services rendered to the Roosevelt Public Library Board of Trustees. Dr. Majekodunmi thanked the community and the board for their support and vowed to remain active with the community and the library. XIV. PUBLIC DISCUSSION XV.
