It was determined that a quorum was present. The meeting was called to order at 1:10 p.m. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA OF APRIL 1, 2015: After a review of the April 1, 2015 Agenda, B. Archuleta moved that the Agenda be approved, and seconded by M. Archuleta. 1

CONSIDER APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE MARCH 4, 2015 REGULAR MEETING: The motion was made by J. Williams and seconded by F. Lucia that the Minutes of the March 4, 2015 meeting be approved. A motion was made to approve the April 2015 Calendar by F. Lucia and seconded by M. Archuleta. APPROVAL OF MONTHLY REPORT FOR MARCH 2015: Ms. Vasquez reported that the total number of patrons served in March was 3,259 and the nutritional program served 1,884, for a total of 5,143. Ms. Vasquez stated that in March we took in $4,350.00 in bingo money, we reserved $75.00 from that amount to purchase additional bingo cards, and we paid out $4,275.00. Ms. Vasquez reported we had 21 new members sign up during the month of March. A motion was made to approve the Monthly Report by F. Lucia and seconded by B. Archuleta. APPROVAL OF MANAGER S REPORT: Ms. Vasquez stated that the membership is growing every day. A total of 21 new members signed up during the month of March. However, on the downside, we are outgrowing the Center. Ms. Vasquez informed the board that she has met and discussed with Mayor Janway and City Administrator Steve McCutcheon the need for more space at the Center and lack of parking spaces. Mayor Janway and Mr. McCutcheon are working on a solution. Ms. Vasquez will meet with Mr. McCutcheon and the Finance Director on Friday, April 3, 2015 to review the Budget for the upcoming fiscal year, at which time the request for additional space for the Center will also be discussed. Volunteers are preparing income tax returns for the community on Wednesdays. For the month of March, a total of 61 returns were prepared. The Assai String Quartet performed for the seniors on March 13 th. It was a wonderful performance by the Assai String Quartet and the seniors enjoyed it very much. Artist, Anndrea Wilcox held a Silk Scarf Painting Class and a Thunder Gourd Class on March 19 th and 20 th. The senior ladies were very happy with their artwork on the scarves and gourds. We had a total of 23 participants. A Prevnar clinic was held here at the Center by Walgreens Pharmacy on March 24 th. A total of six seniors were administered the pneumonia shot. Ms. Vasquez inquired whether a clinic for the Shingles vaccine would be available through Walgreens. 3

The representative from Walgreens Pharmacy will check on the possibility and let us know. Walgreens Pharmacy is also offering to the seniors the choice to have their prescriptions delivered to them here at the Senior Center. A motion was made to approve the Manager s Report by B. Archuleta and seconded by F. Lucia. COMMENTS AND CONCERNS FOR DISCUSSION ONLY. Chairperson, Pat Jones wanted to commend Ms. Vasquez and her staff for the wonderful job they are doing at the Center. The board members were in agreement with Ms. Jones. Chairperson, Pat Jones, stated that one of the senior ladies is decorating hats. She suggested that the senior ladies who craft may be interested in learning this technique. Ms. Vasquez stated that the Center plans to have a garage sale on May 23, 2015 which is on a Saturday and the tables will be set up in the dining room. ADJOURNMENT: With no further business to discuss, the motion was made to adjourn by F. Lucia and seconded by J. Williams. No: None. Motion carried.
