To identify the problems and constraints in respect of Telecommunication and ICT and take up with Government and other relevant bodies for their timely and expeditious solution. To coordinate with DCCI Directors and Members and different Ministries, Departments and Autonomous bodies for formulation of proper policy on development of Telecommunication and ICT sector and help ensure that these sectors can meet the growing demand of the private sector in an effective manner. To assess the information needs of the members of the DCCI and assist them in having access to such information making optimum use of Information Technology. To help develop action plan for the development of information technology in Bangladesh and augment the export of software in co-operation with Government and other local and foreign Agencies. To suggest revision of existing laws, rules and regulations on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in the light of International and WTO rules and regulations and Bangladesh realities and requirements. To explore the possibility of expanding joint collaboration in these sectors. To perform any other task that may be assigned by the Board of Directors / President. MEETINGS: The Convenor and in his absence the Co-Convenor shall convene the meetings in consultation with the Coordinating Director and the agenda of such meetings must be approved by the President. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF COORDINATING DIRECTOR, CONVENOR, CO-CONVENOR:

(a) (b) (c) (d) Coordinating Director shall initiate holding of meetings of the S/C, through the Secretariat of DCCI and advise on adoption of resolutions / recommendations in conformity with the policies of DCCI. Coordinating Director shall present the minutes of the meeting of the S/C to the DCCI Board, put forward reasons and justifications for adopting any or all resolutions and shall play the role of liaison between the S/C and DCCI Board. Convenor and in his absence Co-Convenor shall preside over and conduct all meetings in consultation with the Coordinating Director with an objective to develop entrepreneurship and strengthen leadership qualities with special emphasis to young, educated and talented members. Coordinating Director shall monitor the recommendations, resolutions and suggestions of the S/C as per DCCI policy and Government regulations from time to time. QUORUM: The presence of 3 (three) members in the meeting shall form the quorum. CO-OPTION: For better functioning of the Standing Committee, if any co-option is necessary, the Coordinating Director shall bring such case to the notice of the President for necessary action. N O T E: 1. The Standing Committee shall submit its suggestions / recommendations to the Board of Directors for approval. 2. Besides the nominated members, all members of the Board of Directors are entitled to attend meetings of the Standing Committee. DCCI Secretariat shall ensure sending notices of the meeting to the Directors. 3. Members remaining absent in 3 (three) consecutive meetings of the Committee without prior notice shall be deemed to have vacated their membership of the Standing Committee. 4. The term of office of the Standing Committee shall be one year, if not otherwise decided by the Board of Directors. 5. The Standing Committee shall convene at least 3 (three) regular meetings in a year (excluding emergency meetings and meetings on policy issues).

6. The Standing Committee must submit their report on its activities within 30th September, 2016 in order to incorporate the same in the Annual Report, failing which the Standing Committee's report will not be included in the Annual Report. AHM Rezaul Kabir Secretary General
