Australia's Working Holiday Maker Programme The Working Holiday Maker (WHM) programme aims to promote international understanding. It provides opportunities for resourceful, self-reliant and adaptable young people to holiday in Australia and to supplement their funds through incidental employment. VISA FIRST specialise in administering WHM visa applications in Australia. You can apply for a WHM if: You are aged between 18 to 30 inclusive at the date of application, you have no dependent children, accompanying you at any time during your stay in Australia, you have never entered Australia on WHM visa before, you hold a passport from: Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea (Republic of), Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan or the United Kingdom. What conditions will apply to my visa? Visa holders can have a visa label placed in their passport after arriving in Australia to show employers their right to work. Visa holders will not be charged for the visa label and can get their label at the Sydney Airport between 6 am and 11 pm (7 days a week). Alternatively visa labels can also be printed at the nearest office of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) after arrival in Australia. See a list of addresses of DIBP offices. You cannot work for longer than 6 months in the same position, in the same location, doing the same work. The purpose of the WHM visa is to holiday, supplemented by incidental employment; You cannot engage, for more than 4 months, in any studies or training while in Australia; You are expected to bring sufficient funds to support yourself during your initial stay in Australia; You must ensure that your passport will be valid for the entire period of your stay in Australia. Will I need a medical examination? Health requirements for applicants are assessed at the time of lodging an application and will vary depending on the country of passport and travel/residence history. Applicants may be required to undergo a chest x-ray and/or a medical examination as part of their visa application under certain circumstances, as well as to declare their health status on the visa application form. The most frequent situations where a chest x-ray and/or medical examinations may be required are cases where: You have spent more than 3 consecutive months in the last 5 years in a country considered to be of a very high health risk in terms of tuberculosis; You have been in close contact with a person who has, or has had, active tuberculosis; You have had a Chest X-ray which showed an abnormality; You are likely to enter an Australian hospital or other health care facility for any purpose; You are likely to work in or attend an Australian preschool-aged child care centre (including preschools and creches); You are likely to require assistance with mobility and/or incur medical costs or require treatment or medical follow up for a particular disease while in Australia. 3

NB: If you fall into any of the above cases your visa application will take approximately 8-12 weeks to process from the date that your results are forwarded for assessment. Please do not undergo any health examinations in advance! Health examinations must be taken by doctors and radiologists approved by the Australian Immigration Authorities and details on those will be sent to you if necessary at a later stage. Please do not enclose any medical/x-ray results with your application form. * Note: You may apply for a second if you can provide evidence that you have worked for a minimum of three (3) months as a seasonal worker in regional Australia on your first Working Holiday visa. Do I need a bank statement stating I have $5,000 Australian dollars? You are not required to provide a bank statement for the visa. However you will be required to declare on the application form that you will have sufficient funds to support your self and to cover your return flight - min AUD 5000 (approx. 2700 GBP). You may also be required to provide proof of sufficient funds upon arrival in Australia. How long will my visa be valid for? Once your visa is approved, you will have 12 months to arrive in Australia. After you arrive in Australia, you will be allowed to stay in Australia for a maximum of 12 months. Once Visa First receive your application, your standard visa will take 48 hours 2 working days) to process. Cancellation fees apply We do not require your original passport sent to us. * Under the terms and conditions of the working visa you will only be able to work for any one employer for a maximum of 6 months. TAXSAVER Pack: You will need a Tax File Number (TFN) before you start working in Australia. If you don t have a Tax File Number before you go, you will begin paying income tax at a higher rate of 48% on all income earned. A quick and easy way to get around this is to have your Tax File Number application prepared before you leave. You can now register for a TAXSAVER Pack and we will prepare your TFN application to be lodged on the date of your arrival in Australia. You will receive your TFN in 5-10 working days upon arrival in Australia. To ensure you pay less tax and have more money to spend on travelling, tick the box below. 4. EXTENSION Service: Most people leave for Australia excited and not knowing how long they will spend there. Under the conditions of the Working Holiday visa you are not allowed to work longer than 6 months in any position in Australia. Complaints Process At Visa First we do everything we can to make sure you receive the best possible service. If you feel that we have not achieved this goal we have set up a complaints handling process: Where an official complaint is received by Visa First, the company will record the nature of the complaint and issue an acknowledgement email to the client within 5 business days of receiving the complaint. The acknowledgement will provide the client with the contact name who is responsible for dealing with the complaint. The official complaint must be made by email (you may also write, although this will slow down the process), and confirm that the client wishes to enter this process. Please email your complaint to compliant@visafirst.com Visa First will investigate the complaint as swiftly as possible and where applicable, the complainant will receive a regular written update on the progress of the investigation at intervals of not more than 20 business days. Visa First will try to resolve the complaint within 40 business days of having received the complaint. If the complaint cannot be resolved within 40 business days, the Firm will write to the complainant notifying them of the anticipated timeframe for the conclusion of the investigation. Within 5 business days of the conclusion of the investigation of the complaint, Visa First will issue a resolution letter detailing the outcome of the investigation. This letter will include, if applicable, an explanation of the terms of any offer that the company is prepared to make in settlement of the complaint.
