EMIP HOME Emerging Macroeconomic Issues in Pakistan Challenges and Future Perspectives (EMIP 2017) 22 nd November 2017 Conference Organizer National University of Modern Languages Islamabad Pakistan Overview Since Pakistan s independence the pace of growth has been very low. Statistics suggest that Pakistan is only notch above poorest countries. It is because of high poverty rate, low literacy rate, poor infrastructure and outdated agriculture technology, lack of industrialization, wide trade gap, poor healthcare system and low standard of living etc. If we give an insight into the macro economic situation of Pakistan than it is observed that its economy is still dependent on IMF, World Bank and foreign donations. Majority of the population is living in rural areas without basic necessities of life. It is a country where financial gap between rich and poor is widening day by day.
