That there were 6? consolidated voting precincts and that the total number of ballots cast was, 27,303. SECTION 2. That the following persons were eiected members of the City Council for four-year terms: WILLI1 H. JENNINGS, CHRISTINE EMERSON REED and RUTH GOLDWAY YANNATTA SECTION 3. That the following persons were elected members of the BQard of Education and Governing Board of the Community College Ditrict for four-year terms: JAMES BAMBRICK, FRED BETETA, CAROLE CURREY and ANN STUMPUS. That the following statement of the results of votes cast is to be entered into the minutes of the City C.ouncil meeting at which it is accepted by adoption of this resolution: STATEMENT OF THE CITY CLERK Joyce Snider, City Clerk of the City of Santa t4onica hereby certify the following: That at the General.1unicipa1 Election held April 10, 1979, as provided for by the Charter of the City of Santa l4onica and the Elections Code of the State of California, there were S4 consolidated voting precincts established within the boundaries of the City of Santa Monica and eleven consolidated election precincts established within the Santa Monica Unified School District and the Santa Monica Community College District but outside the City of Santa Monica for a total of 6S voting precincts That the absent voter ballots were canvassed by a board appointed by the City Clerk as provided for in the State Qf California Elections Code and that the official canvass was commenced by the City Clerk on April 12,. 1979 and completed on April 13, That the voting was done by electric vote recording equipment (IBM) in accordance with the provisions of the State of California Elections Code. That there were 25,025 ballots cast within the City, 1,009 ballots cast outside the City, all within the Santa Monica Unified School District and the Santa r.1onica Community College District and 1,269 absent voter ballots cast within the entire election jurisdiction for a total of 27,303 ballots -2-
