Political Inequality in America: Who Loses and What Can Be Done About It? (with Zoltan Hajnal, Brian Newman, and David Searle). Presidential Representation of African Americans Policy Preferences. (with Brian Newman)(revise and resubmit JREP). Income Inequality, Citizen Polarization, and Political Protest. (with Chad Kiewiet de Jonge). Work in Progress The Politics of Participation. (with Carl Palmer). Standard models of political participation emphasize the role of factors largely external to politics, such as socioeconomic status and personal characteristics, but political activity also has its roots in political issues and conflicts. What are the characteristics of citizens reactions to policy outcomes and the differential effects of these reactions on participation? This project seeks to shed light on this important antecedent of political participation one strongly implied by prior work, but rarely examined with any level of rigor. - Postdoctoral Research Associate (2010-12) - Items accepted for Evaluations of Government and Society Study (EGSS), American National Election Studies, Phase 3 - Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts Large Grant Proposal, declined An Experiment on the Logic of Congressional Accountability.
