office of the university international service desk Checklist MVV and/or (first) residence permit family member(s) Please note: An application for prospective staff will always take precedence over an application for family members. Besides: - The preparations you have to make can be time consuming since you have to legalise certain documents in advance. - Processing these applications takes the Dutch Immigration Services (IND) more time compared to an application for a knowledge migrant or researcher. In case of a combined application for you and your family members, you have to be prepared that you have your MVV before your family members do. NB: If your family members are nationals from Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea or the United States of America, we will not apply for their MVV. We will only apply for their residence permits. In busy periods, this may only happen after they have arrived in the Netherlands. Required documents Before we can apply we will check your income details, like we have it in your file. The monthly income requirement for family member(s) is a minimum of 1676 per month. In case your file confirms such an income, please send the following documents and information to the ISD (isd@rug.nl): Copy of the passport(s) of your spouse/partner and/or child.
