From Auxiliary Unit 40 Hello Ladies, January was a very busy month. A lot of our Northern friends have returned just in time, since winter has arrived in the North. It sure is great to see everyone again. There is a district meeting on Saturday February 28 th at Post 318 in Port St. Lucie. Try to make the meeting and represent Unit 40. President Edie Porter has reported that hopefully our updated By-Laws and Constitution will be available at our next meeting on Monday February 9 th. Brenda Willis has reported that there are still some members who have not renewed and we are running out of time quickly. Ladies, if you haven t already make sure you renew ASAP. The next Quarter Auction is scheduled for Monday March 2 nd at 6:00 PM. Remember these Auctions benefit our AEF (Auxiliary emergency Fund) and we need your support, not to mention the Auctions are a lot of fun. Just a reminder, we still have a monthly Flea Market at Post 40 on the first Saturday of each month. Make sure to clean out that junk room and turn the stuff into CA$H, especially since the weather is so nice right now and a space with 8 table is only $10.00 donation to Post 40. The Post 40 Annual Valentines Dinner will be served on Saturday February 14 th at 5:00 PM. Adele is serving Stuffed Chicken Breasts with mashed potatoes and succotash. Dinner will be followed by Karaoke, so plan on making it a full evening. The Auxiliary Dinner will be served Tuesday February 10 th by Denise & Dave. I was unable to get the menu prior to the deadline for the newsletter, but I am sure it will be delicious and you can contact Post 40 for more information. The Legionnaires and Auxiliary members at Post 40 are hosting a Day at the Casino on March 21 st beginning at 10:00 AM and lasting until all the fun is gone. Please contact Dee or Helen for information. To everyone celebrating a Birthday or Anniversary in February, Congratulations and Unit 40 sends its best wishes. We also pray for all of our Troops to be protected from harm and returned home safely this year. For God and Country, Dee Sheppard 2 nd Vice Unit 40

A Note Of Thanks Hello Friends, I am one of the new volunteers in the Canteen at Post 40. My name is Loretta. I would like to personally Thank Post 40 and all the members who made my father s (Frank Korowitz) memorial service such a wonderful and fitting remembrance. It will forever hold a special place in my heart. Although it was an event I had hoped to never have to attend, it is an unfortunate fact of life. He was definitely shown and given the respect he earned protecting our country and supporting our Post. I have been overwhelmed with gratitude, which for one of the few times in my life has left me speechless. I am not sure how to express the gratitude I am feeling. All I can think of is to say Thank You to Post 40 and all those who volunteered to make it such a special day.
