"The biggest problem at the moment is the initial registration of people and providing them with the basics that's not working well in an awful lot of places," Rebecca Kilian-Mason, who runs a project in Munich that informs migrants about the asylum process in Germany.
Setting up a Humanitarian Logistics Operation in Germany? The basic task of humanitarian logistics comprises acquiring and delivering requested supplies and services, at the places and times they are needed, whilst ensuring best value for money. In the immediate aftermath of any disaster, these supplies include items that are vital for survival, such as food, water, temporary shelter and medicine, among others.
Registration Challenges Backlog: almost 300,000 refugees in Germany not yet registered For 2/3 of the refugees, it takes more then five months from registration until they receive information on their status 1/3 of the refugees do not carry a passport Many redundancies and lack of interoperability: up to 5 different registrations necessary for different services

The EASY distribution system The distribution takes place after registration in the next step, i.e. allocating applicants to the initial reception facility that will be responsible for them. If the asylum-seeker is not already registered with the facility responsible for him, he must go to the one allocated to him. He then submits his asylum application in the branch office of the Federal Office allocated to this initial reception facility. http://ec.europa.eu/dgs/home-affairs/what-we-do/networks/european_migration_network/reports/docs/emnstudies/10a.germany_national_report_reception_facilities_en_final.pdf
Allocation policies in Germany Allocation of refugees according to - capacity levels at particular time - branch office of the Federal Office that deals with the asylum-seeker's home country - Acceptance quotas for individual Federal Länder, calculated each year according to the tax receipts and population numbers
Jungle in Calais - about 3,000 residents, including an increasing number of women and children - conditions far below any minimum standards for refugee camps - researchers from the University of Birmingham, working with the Doctors of the World group, found a piped water tap to have E coli and Coliform present above safe standards http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/oct/02/calais-refugee-camp-conditionsdiabolical-report-jungle-bacteria-hygiene
Planning for?
From arrival to integration "The authorities tell me to sleep and eat. I say 'give me a job! Everyday I sleep and eat and I don't like it. I didn't come here for the food - I have better food in my own country. http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/10/04/us-europe-migrants-germany-logistics-ins-iduskcn0ry0e420151004 50 % of the refugees younger than 25 years, many in transit camps without education In Germany alone 130 Mio. Euros for education, additional teachers etc. Many volunteer initiatives to support language training
