Senator Coordinator Reports

a. Off-Campus Senators (L. Ruedig) i. We will be working on constituent contact ideas for the coming semester. As a group we are going to be working with the student attorney and the pre-law adviser on re-creating an ISU tenant s union. This will be the main off-campus initiative for this semester. It will result in a website with information on the apartment rental companies that can be easily compared. It will also result in an organization that will begin similarly to STOP, through SGA, but will eventually become a self-sustaining organization. Also, off-campus senators, I ll be sending out an email to see when you are all available so we can start having meetings next week. b. On-Campus Senators (Z. Owens) c. Underrepresented Senators (K. Colaric) i. Underreps. met on Tuesday 1/12 to go over the final touches of our upcoming constituent contact event which will be held by the end of January. ii. Immediately after this event, we will begin planning our next event which will revolve around the resolution that President Spialek moved to the floor tonight. iii. We are currently working on bring back "Saw You in the News" which will help strengthen our communication and overall relationship with all of the RSOs on campus. Every day, one Underrep. will check the Vidette (on his/her pre-assigned day) and cut out any press pertaining to RSOs. After doing so, we will send out (hand written) cards each week that will include a personal message from that RSO's Senator and the article itself. iv. Lastly, we are working with the Programs and Recognition Committee to make some necessary changes to the By-laws about "RSO of the Month." Because RSOs are our constituents, we (Underreps.) believe it is our right and responsibility to nominate and present the "RSO of the Month" each month. Making this change to the by-laws will allow us to create a better bond with our constituents and ensure that they understand that our sole purpose and overall desire is to support them and acknowledge their accomplishments. v.
